Hey everyone,

I'm planning on taking the honors chemistry series and was wondering how the lab would work for that. Do I have to enroll in both Chem 6AH and Chem 7L this fall quarter?

Thank you for your time!

assuming you are a freshman, but Chem 7L is already full by now with a pretty long waitlist, so AFAIK, you would most likely finish the Gen. Chem series, and if you get lucky take 7L with 6CH, otherwise, you would most likely be taking it during summer (if you will do summer classes) or in your sophomore year

Thanks for the reply! So Chem 7L is only one quarter? That’s good then, I’ll just take it spring quarter like you said. I have regents so hopefully I should be able to get it.

All labs are a quarter long. Some come in categories (ie, 108/109 for biochem, 143s for organic, etc) but you can pretty much pick and choose when it comes time for electives.

Thanks astrina! I think we’ve all come to know you as the resident UCSD chemistry expert haha ;)

Haha I’ve been around here so long that I’m almost old enough to TEACH these classes. I’ll probably apply within the next year or two and see what happens. :)
