chem6b FULL..***

being in czworkowski’s class isn’t a death sentence. people just happen to like dr. johnson lots more, because she’s pretty awesome. she’s even on youtube! [YouTube - UCSD Chem6B: Johnson, Christina](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

as for her exams, they’re modeled very closely after dr. hoeger’s. not inherently difficult, but if you’re a good student to begin with, you’ll do fine.

Czworkowsi is the nicest and most approachable person of all time. Just saying.

Theres only about 280 chem6a spots left (total of 1050) And my enrollment time isn’t until Friday. Am I screwed?

Lol the his wrongly spelled name travels… O well I guess its not that bad to get czworkowski then…

@lee3522
I’m in the sameee boat haha, I really hope not ):

Damn it. I spelled his name wrong. I actually know how to spell it too. :(

If you guys are worried about waitlists and all the spots filling up… they WILL open more sections for each class.

Right now, I assume the classes are all displaying about 6 sections and the school can open up to 9 depending if the professor is willing to accept more students into the class and if they can find TAs to cover those sections.

So dont worry if you dont get in right away, just wake up early for the next couple of weeks and check your school email everyday to see if any of the new sections have opened up.

@Avib0y

Thanks so much!

Avib0y,
that is a lifesaver kind of comment. so if we waitlist, we’ll get emails in our ACS account notifying us of new sections? or do they send those emails to all students? because initially i wasn’t going to waitlist, but if that’s the only way to get notified of new sections, I might waitlist.

Yeah, for Chem 6B, they’d be crazy not to open up another full class looking at how full it is already. No guarantees from me though. :)

Speaking of opening more classes, can I assume correctly that I can still change my schedule/ classes before my deadline to register for classes?

^You can continuously change your schedule until the end of week 2 of classes.

Should we sign up for an extra “just in case I don’t get off the waitlist” class?

it’s not up to the professor, it’s up to the department.

(because in all honesty, WHICH professor would welcome the influx of another 90 students? it’s just more work for them.)

@$KingsElite$

That’s awesome! Honestly this scheduling makes high school scheduling look like ****. :)

^ keep in mind: Many “midterm” tests start to be given by 3rd week, and physics classes have weekly quizzes starting week 2. You dont want to do too much flip flopping with classes. You miss a lot, very quickly.

Especially in lower div classes, frosh and soph classes, I have found there to be more 2-3 midterms per class instead of just one. so after 3rd week you usually have a midterm a week until 8th or 9th week.

i don’t know if i’m being random, apologies in advance!

so you can enroll in five classes to prepare for the waitlisted class that you end up not getting? so that way you still have 4 left with. but if we do get the waitlisted class, then can we drop one without a penalty?

@Chemistrylover and yunjh2725

No. You can only sign up for 19.5 units until the first day of classes in which it goes up to 22 units.

@Astrina… I never thought of it that way. I guess it makes sense that the department determines if new sections would be opened up

^ you can always call and ask. and report back here :)
