Opinions on any of the programs would be great! We are going back to visit all three but time is ticking away! We realize how different all the schools are. Also money about the same everywhere. Thanks!

Chemical Engineering @ Villanova is outstanding. Dr Weinstein is a charismatic leader who inpsires engineer to create solutions to todays & tomorrows challenges.Weinstein says “The Enginerd needs to stop. Smart must be made cool.”

Coincidentally, Today the College of Engineering hosts CEO of Panama Canal Authority to discuss $5.25 billion canal expansion in a lecture series…

Could not argue against Lehigh , but if you come to Villanova for Chem E , you will be inspired and prepared for a great career… Good luck

Yeah, Villanova has a great engineering program.

My daughter loved Villanova but was also accepted at Cornell. She is a little torn between the two. She is Chem E. Any advice?

Nova and Lehigh are better choices than Delaware. This is even more true if the pricetag is the same.

Cornell is one of the premiere engineering schools in the country. Cornell varies dramatically in quality from program to program but their engineering department is top notch. On the downside, Cornell is the but of every ivy leaguer’s jokes (despite having better engineering than most of the others). It is also supposed to be a miserable place to go to school and has a long-standing reputation as the school where students are most likely to commit suicide. I have no idea if that reputation is based in fact. I do seem to recall reading somewhere that they were averaging 1 suicide per month and had to construct barriers to keep people from jumping off a bridge. I don’t know how this compares to other schools.

[Does 6 deaths in 6 months make Cornell ‘suicide school’? - USATODAY.com](http://www.usatoday.com/news/education/2010-03-16-IHE-cornell-suicides-16_ST_N.htm)

While I know that this is a difficult decision and there is much to think about, I have to comment on Rising Chemist’s remarks about Cornell. Having gone to school there I have to disagree with the remark that it is miserable place to go to school. My experience was a wonderful one–how could it not be? Cornell is in a beautiful location, has a wonderful campus life, outstanding academic programs, just to mention a few. Have there been suicides? Yes, there have, but this should not define Cornell and the wonderful school that it is. Is there a lot of pressure at Cornell? Yes, but no more so that any other schools of the same caliber. I wish you and your D luck in her decision-she will make the right choice for her. I just had to comment on Cornell as it is a school that provided me with a wonderful college experience and an excellent education.

The Chemical Engineering program at Villanova is outstanding. I am a current ChE student if you have any questions.
