Chemistry 2010 Exam

The exam is over...how do you think it went?

I feel that I did fairly well, accomplishing my goal of a high 3 or mid 4. I wasn't really surprised about MUCH, which was good.

The exam was given on Tuesday May 11, so let's obey CB's discussion rules until Thursday afternoon. We can discuss the FRQs in this thread then. :)

Not especially hard, but not exactly easy either. I should have a 5.

botched up the frq yay ^^ mc was easy
looking at 4… drat

I thought the MC was harder than the FRQ.

It was ridiculously easy. I fear that the curve this year will be crazy

That was, honestly, the easiest AP exam I’ve taken in high school, with the exception of maybe AP Calc AB. I needed a 4 on it and im pretty certain I got a 5 :)

Free Response was o.k. The first three I had a general idea, but I wasn’t sure. My teacher predicted the Ksp part and was right. Equation writing was too easy, and the Multiple Choice was a breeze. I’m seeing a 4, if not a 5.

Except, I did self study so I didn’t know constant of solubility product, but tht shouldn’t affect me too much

MC was definitely much easier than older tests…it was kinda like the 2002 M/C in my opinion except maybe a BIT harder.

Pt A of FRQs were…slightly challenging, but Pt B was extremely easy–question 4 was essentially a JOKE lol.

Yes, I think the curve this year will be ridiculous… >_>

Yea I thought it was pretty easy and I’m not even top 5 in my chemistry class… So the curve will probably be brutal

I agree about the FRQs…I know I got all of #4 and 5 right. The calc-active I wasn’t too sure on, but I put enough stuff down that I should at least get half credit. :)

yup. can’t wait for the 48h to be over so we can freely discuss FRQ 1/2/3 ;)

I have the technique of frqing down now…I finish early then write my answers in the green booklet so when we go over it in class Friday I will know what I got. :)

haha, that’s what i should’ve done…oh well, i kinda memorized my answers so it shouldn’t be too bad :P

i didn’t even write in the green packet as i thought it was kinda useless since the question and answer space was already provided in the pink packet…lol

Honestly, I thought the MC wasn’t too bad, but for me I hadn’t studied enough the topics tested on the FRQ questions. =/

Anyone have a rough estimate on score breakdown?

MC was fair, but I did terribly on the first free response section. Does anyone know the score cutoff for a three?

Edit: I think these were the cutoffs around a year or two ago

5:60-88
4:50-59
3:40-49
2:30-39
1:0-29

How is there only 88 possible points? There’s 75 MC questions alone.

Yeah…I don’t think that’s right…

How do they scale the FRQ? What if you jacked up a FRQ? Can you still get a 5?

I’m not sure, I found those when I googled it and they apparently came from Kaplan’s ap chem review book…I’m not sure how accurate this is though, but it’s the only score cutoffs I’ve seen so far.
