Chemistry major, first year at UF. What to take?

I'm enrolled in Summer B, and with my Preview date about next week, I'm worrying a bit about which classes I should take. I'm planning on majoring in Chemistry, with the ultimate goal of going to med school after UF.

I'm currently in IB, and after all these IB and AP tests are said and done, I'll likely have amassed a lot of credits, so with that in mind, here's what I have for my Summer and Fall schedules:

Summer B:
Intermediate Spanish II
Ximena Moors

Plants, Plagues, and People
Brantlee Richter

Fall:
Beginning Japanese I
Yukari Nakamura

Organic Chemistry I
Kirk Schanze

Enriched Physics with Calculus I
Tarek Saab

Calculus II
No teachers are actually listed for this one.

I decided on relatively easy classes for my Summer term, just because it's only about 6 weeks and I didn't want to overwhelm myself so early.
For fall, I chose somewhat harder classes. AP Chemistry will probably let me into Organic, and I could go to Calc III with Calc BC credits but I chose to retake Calc II instead.
The physics course is an Honours class, and I have to take Physics with Calculus for my major, anyway.
Japanese because I just want to learn it.

I'm mainly concerned about my Fall schedule; I don't want teachers that are unfair. Mainly this is a concern with Organic, as I've read the reviews on RateMyProfessors and none of them seem very great.

Any thoughts?

I’m taking Orgo 1 in the fall too. I think there’s like 4 professors offering it, and Kirk Schanze has the worst ratings.

None of them seem stellar but Aponick and McElwee have the “best” ratings. The thing is there’s only one seat left in the Aponick class and like 5 left fot the McElwee :/

If you want to go to med school, you may want to bite the bullet and retake chemistry 1 and 2, just because med schools want to see grades for those classes… This is what most people end up doing.

^agreed. Some, if not all, med schools do not accept AP/high school credits for the Pre reqs. Most schools even frown upon completing the majority of your pre reqs at a community college.
