Chinese woman passage

i dont no why but no one is really talking about this passage.
well, the first answer is something like how the war impacted the women, but does anyone recall the second question???
I am like crazy to no that one

i remember that one. the second question was about how the second paragraph compared to the first. One of the answers included the word digressed but it was not the correct answer.

oh yea can u tell me wut you put? u no the correct answeR?

I think I put that the second explained a claim made in the first or something like that.

The second passage digressed from the first passage, as they had little to do with each other.

The passages weren't unrelated..

If I recall correctly, the first passage stated that WWII had a great impact on Chinese American women and the second passage tried to substantiate that claim.

I honestly do not remember the second passage, but I recall not seeing any significant relation between the two passages.

so what was the correct answer?
o_o

No, I agree with Sashimi. The first paragraph spoke about WWII's affect on America in general- the last sentence spoke about how it especially impacted Chinese-American women. The next sentence went into more depth, explaining how they joined the Red Cross, worked at factories, etc.

IT was not about two diff. passages, it was about the first and second PARAGRAPHS. I put that the other supported a claim made in the previous or somethin like that

Yes, the second paragraph provided more details for the generalization made in the first paragraph.

there was a Chinese woman passage ?

ya....

"the second supported an idea originally claimed in the first paragraph"

Was the answer to the first the impact on the Chinese American women or something about feminism?

for the 1st question, I put the impact of WWII on chinese america women because it specifically mentioned that WWII affected a lot of things and I didn't really see feminism anywhere.

That's what I thought too... but i think a lot of people in another thread said feminism... and then I got confused because I wasn't really sure if the passage was about the impact of WWII as it was about what the Chinese women did?? or is that the same thing...

AHHHH

feminism is TOO broad. it was a correct answer, yes, but SATs look for the BEST answer (i.e. CHINESE feminism).

for the other question, i think i put a claim represented in the first paragraph

ok good. so then, i got both right.

Yeah the passage was a short one with 2 questions about it
Im pretty sure about the answers for both of them
1. What is the primary purpose of this passage?
Ans: To explain the effect WWII had on Chineese Women... (this was explicitly stated at the end of para 1)

How does the first and second paragraph relate to each other
Ans: Para 2 explains a claim made in Para 1

Ok good. This wasn't an experimental section, was it?
