I know Andover is very prestigious, and will have many opportunities. My sister is currently attending and because of that I feel encouraged to attend as well. She really likes it there and tells me it’s great.
But in Choate, my interviewer was very kind, and I felt as if the people were more nicer there. My interviewer has also sent me a personal email talking about how proud she was to be my interviewer and it seems uncomfortable for me to possibly say no.
Do you think both schools will challenge me, or will only Andover do so? I’m not really sure what to do as of right now, perhaps I will visit again in the Spring. Thank you !
Both will challenge you. Revisit. If you can’t decide, which happens a lot as they are both great, choose Andover for your parents sake. Going to two parents weekends and picking up/dropping off in two states are a lot more work to your parents.
I agree that revisiting will help you decide, and it would be really nice to be at the same school as your sister (for you and your parents). I do not know much about Choate, but I myself attended Andover many years ago. I just know that – throughout life – counting on a positive connection with my initial contact person did not necessarily guarantee a positive experience later on. The interviewer is only one person and you will likely never see him/her again. However, you do want to have a warm-fuzzy feeling about the school you choose, and revisiting would help you decide.
