Choate Rosemary Hall Wallingford, CT

hey, I’m new to this, but I thought I’d try to help answer more questions. I’ve studied abroad before, so I could answer any questions that you have about that.

oh, and also this is just a comment on something written earlier. There are many ways for a student to be involved in both sports and theater at the same time. Choate has amazing acting classes that can easily be taken as a 6th class. Also, either SPF or student directed scenes (I can’t remember which one), almost always rehearses after sports practice, and I know several people that finish practice and go straight to rehearsal.

Are cargo shorts allowed for boys?

@BronxKid
I think I was sitting in the same history class as you! Were you the one that knew all the questions about trench warfare etc? And then at the end they watched this really long video about WWII?

haha, Yeah! (wasn’t it WWI?) awesome! I was the kid who was from NYC (obviously, hence BronxKid) and so was my revisit student. He was getting all excited because i knew the answers (I already knew him, we come from the same program). small world small world xD

I can’t quite remember. I just know that the teacher kept on talking about some final research paper.
My guide also lived in the same city as me, but we both aren’t locals.
What a small world!

haha, yeah we were in the same history class :smiley: i remember you xD that pretty girl lol

hahaha
oh hey! I think I found you on facebook! Sent you a friend request

lol you did :smiley:
can we take Ps3’s and lie use it in the common room?

@Brandon
i think we can, i saw alot of guys with cargo shorts on revisit day

if you are going to be a freshman boy, i do not think that they will allow you to bring any gaming devices nor are there TVs in the dorm to use with them

what about as you get older? that sucks :frowning: oh well, less distractions for me :D

You can senior year if you are a prefect

when will placement results be released?

Last year my daughter did not find out until she got her class schedule, which was in August I think.

Placement results can be seen on the courses that you have been placed in when schedules come out in late august.

Can you ship your items to the school before school starts? If so, when?

@circlemidnight Yes, you can ship things. They will hold them in the mail room until you collect them. We shipped stuff to arrive within the week before school started so my daughter could get the things as soon as she arrived, but I am not sure how soon you can start shipping things.

I’ll be a senior next year so I’ll be able to help one of you new, incoming Choaties situate yourself onto campus~ I’m actually really excited and I hope you are, too! <3

@azulhearts-I am very excited to go to Choate! By the way, I know on our first day we do the whole matriculating signing thing, but what else do we do besides that, and unpacking our stuff into the dorm room?

@circlemidnight: sorry for the late response! The first day is just all the technical stuff where basically you go on a trip around campus getting your random chores done. So, when you arrive and register at the PMAC, you’ll have a senior assigned to help you (we’ll be wearing a gold t-shirt =) easy to spot) who will take you around campus, help you unload/ unpack, show you where to buy your textbooks for the year and wait in the extremely long line with you, and also bear with you the possible frustrations of setting up your computer with the Choate network. The first night has a dorm bonding event as well so have fun with that =) Uhm… Thats really all I can remember of my first day… but thats basically the jist of it. hope that answers your question? =)
