Choices, choices....

Do you have a solid first choice school? If not, how do you plan on deciding between different places? What criteria are you using?

I'm terrible at making decisions, lol. Don't know how I'm going to decide where to spend four years of my life when all the options look so incredible...

Just curious to see if anyone else has any insights in this area...

Astarblaze ~

good question lol i'm thinking campus visits and/or overnights (or just the Dimensions or Decisions Days, or whatever it is called based on the schools you applied to)... what exactly are the options that you are considering?

i have a first choice school, but if I dont' get into it, I'm sorta lost... thats why I'm just relying on using pretty much every weekend in April to look at the schools from which I've received acceptances...

btw, any1 else think its extremely unfair/unreasonable for us to make a decision within 1 month (April 1 to May 1 )... i think its pretty ridiculous - other opinions? lol

Unfortunately I can only make one trip back east (I live in AZ and my top four choices are in the NE) b/c of travel costs, and I'm limited to seven days, including travel days, in which to visit four schools. I don't believe that will be enough time to really get a feel for all four schools. So I want to narrow it down based on visiting, but I think I'm going to have to eliminate at least one school before that. Ahhh!!! I want to go to all the schools! lol

Of course two of the schools could reject me, but since I've gotten likelies from the two harder-to-get-into of the schools, I am of the opinion that I'll have to choose btw all four. (Good and bad thing...)

I agree that one month really isn't enough time to make this big of a decision. I'm going to be missing sooooooo much school in April as it is. It's sick...

I guess I'll talk to my parents about pros and cons of each school, maybe do more research, try to talk to current students (this is dependent on me finding the time, of course), look at financial aid packages, etc. Unfortunately it may come down to a flip of the coin, though.

btw, what is your first choice school and what other schools are you looking at, aleck?

take that back.. i dont' really have a first choice... i mean i sorta do, but its between several schools.... its between Penn, Duke, and Dartmouth (i think)... and they are obviously all reaches - so I'll just havta wait and see what happens on March 31 / April 1. Good luck astar

astar- what 4 schools will you most likely (haha get the pun? liklely? lol) be choosing from?

If you are invited to go to dimensions and you go, I think you'll have a pretty solid idea about dartmouth.

Dartmouth, Amherst (the two likelies), Williams, and Middlebury are my top choices right now (I can't say for sure about getting in to Williams and Midd, however), though I might have to narrow it down to just D, A, and W.

lol. if this were the Harvard board, i'd be like "astar...choose Amherst!" and praise Amherst, all the while thinking to myself "THAT FREES UP ONE POSSIBLE SLOT FOR ME!!!"

lmao- but this isn't a Harvard board ;)

lol i second that, astar (lol sorry blu)
