<p>is it easier to get into a UC with a unique major that not most people choose? i ask because i have a friend at school who got into a lot of good UCs and we think it’s because of his major pick (afro studies and he’s asian) as opposed to his stats (which aren’t very good)</p>

<p>major choice has nothing to do with admitting students at a uc, unless you are going for an engineering major</p>
<p>Or other programs, such as Chemistry at Berkeley, or Architecture. There is more to college than engineering and "other."</p>
