So as an LSA freshman, your major/focus can be Pre-Business. So what exactly is Pre-Business and how does it relate to earning admission into Ross for sophomore year?

Also, can you chose to pick another focus say actuarial/financial mathematics or economics and still apply to Ross?

I'm a little confused about this, so I would appreciate any help.

My orientation isn't for another month or so, but I would still like to learn more about this.

You can apply to Ross, as long as you comply with its pre requisites(i.e. taking Econ 101 , Math 115 or higher and the English class). Freshman students don't usually declare a concentration so you can pretty much choose what you want.

Im not a business student, but i know a LOT of people who were "pre-business" during my freshman year. You dont have any concentration and even most students in all other majors dont declare until the end of their first year/ beginning of their second. So it doesnt really matter what ur major is.

Anyone can apply to ross, regardless of major. I hear they admit on 3 criteria: GPA, extracurriulars, and essay. So be sure to keep ur GPA up (>3.6 i believe) and try to hold some board/leadership position on a club during ur freshman year.

You can be a Ross student and still do a dual degree with the LSA. I know someone doing BBA + actuarial math concentration. I bet it's one of the more common business/LSA dual-degrees.
