I just want to clarify the admissions process...

So you apply online and fill out the entire application based on the honor system. You do not send in transcripts, letters of rec, etc. If you are admitted to the UC of your choice, you send an official transcript to that UC in June. If the UC finds any discrepancies within your application and the transcript (for example, you put on your application that you received an A in a class when you really received a C), they will rescind you. If the grades and courses you listed on the application in November matches the transcript you send in June (and if you do not learn any grade that is C- or lower)...everything is okay and you will officially be accepted as a student at that UC.

Is this correct?

Thank you.

I would like to know the answer to this as well.

Ooh, naughty children looking to high-roll one? :D

There are no letters of rec. The only documents that are sent in, really, are your transcript and SAT scores.

Don't ******** your ECs, though. If you get audited and you can't back up your accomplishments in documentation, you are fcked.

Yea, they randomly audit students, so don't get caught exaggerating or they will rescind your admission.

You DO need to send in SAT scores by the deadline.

You DO NOT need to send in letters of recommendation, counselor letters, or any other documentation from anyone else.

You EVENTUALLY NEED TO SEND your official high school transcript and AP scores, but only to the UC that admitted you which you ultimately decide to attend.

The only official documentation to support your application at the time of application is the SAT or ACT score report. The documents which support your application pending conditional acceptance (and it's always contingent on your performance during senior year and your honesty in filling out the application) are the high school transcript and AP scores.

As was mentioned, there is an audit of a randomly selected pool of students; I'm unfamiliar with what they choose to do in this case, but it does involve additional information and documentation.

Actually, you don't really need to send SAT scores. Your app will be reviewed without them -- or they have in previous years. Last year I e-mailed 6 UC campuses about sending scores and recieved 6 different answers. I know kids who have been accpeted with Regent's w/o sending scores. However, I do recommend sending them... :)

The UCs randomly audit 5-10% of all apps, and will ask for formal documentation for every item listed on your app. A small % of students on the "admissions bubble" can be sent a letter requesting more info, including a rec.

xp: one other caveat: Senior Year must average a 3.0 uw or better, or you'll have some explainin' to do.
