Clarify Georgia Tech ACT Conversion Policy

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if you guys could clarify a few things about Tech’s ACT score policy.

First, does Tech actually CONVERT your ACT score to an SAT score? I mean, do they actually give you a numerical value out of 800 for each ACT subscore?

I’m pretty sure the answer to that question is yes, but I just wanted to make sure.

Second, I’ve tried to find concordance tables but I’m always really confused because Tech insists that they don’t use R or S scores at all from the ACT, but all the tables use the ACT Composite to convert to a CR+M (1600) SAT score and then the Combined E/W is done separately. I can never find a table that just does Math or English from the ACT, it’s always composite (which would inherently include the R & S scores)…

So, can someone do me a huge favor and just tell me how my scores would convert (ranges are fine as I understand it can be very difficult to narrow it down to finite numbers).

35 C
35 E
36 R
33 M
33 E+W (W=9)

Much Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!!
And to my fellow class of '16ers, good luck!!

Here is one that does Math or English to SAT. I’m sure there are more out there.

My son is a GT student. His ACT English score of 35 was converted to a 790. His ACT math score of 31 was converted to 700. I would suspect that a 33 would convert to a 760. GT disregards the composite, reading, and science score a.

Great to know!! And thank you for the site

GT converted an ACT 34 to 780.
