My schedule right now is CHE 2AH (I’m actually trying really hard to get into regular chem now because Guo is apparently a ridiculous professor), BIS 2A, MAT 21A, and DRA 14, adding up to 17 units. But I’m also trying to get into DRA 26 (3 more units) during schedule adjustment. Would this be too much for my first quarter?
At Orientation they advised us to keep the unit counts to 13-15, but I’m very strong academically and I function much better under pressure (I’ve been in Colorguard, while maintaining a full AP schedule, and taking one or two college classes a night every since beginning of sophomore year and my GPA is still in the top 5% of my graduating class). I’m rationalizing with myself that since the two DRA classes will be a lot more relaxing (with 14 half lecture half dance practice), this should be doable. I am hoping that I can also volunteer during my free time.

If you honestly think this is crazy and it doesn’t matter how much work I can take on, I WILL fail, please tell me, and if you think this is doable, also tell me, I’m trying to see if anyone had done something comparable and came out alive.

Hey! I wish I had met you during orientation I’ve been debating between wait listing for Physics or BIS during Pass 2 but I don’t know which one to pick. (I would be taking this concurrently with Chem 2A, but not Math)

The main reason they tell you to stick with 13-15 units is so you can get adjusted to college life as well n.n

I’d be nervous about loading up with BIS 2A and MAT 21 already on your schedule. Those are some tough classes. My friend took a similar schedule to what you’re suggesting last quarter and barely handled it without working. She said it completely sapped her of anything but school.

If you want to be busy, just take an easier course load for your first quarter and fill up your free time with work/clubs. That way, you have the option of a busy schedule without the potential of killing yourself at the start of the year.

Trinniele, I think it is definitely possible! You seem like me, determined to get things done (pressure keeps me going), if we are similar then I think those classes would be doable for you. It may be a little tedious but hey, no pain no gain. Goodluck, and I hope to see you at school this coming Fall!
