<p>Yes, those first auditioned admissions do mean a lot to our kids. “Its a brand new day” around here. Technically American was auditioned too but for whatever reason that didn’t count as a real auditioned program for my D. </p>
<p>OK so I have edited this twice trying to figure out how not to sound like I am dissing American because I am NOT. I thought it was a great program and school. But for some reason (and it wasn’t that it was a BA because she would love a Fordham acceptance) that auditioned acceptance didn’t count for my kid and until the NYU admission came she was stressed and feeling like she had gone through her auditions without success . Same with her Emerson waitlist. A friend finally convinced her that was good. Sigh.</p>

<p>This has indeed been a rollercoaster ride. Our D happily has been accepted to three BFA programs, and waitlisted for another prestigious one. There were rejections too, but so be it.</p>
<p>Bad news for her today from BU, but we’re moving on now. She definitely can’t wait to visit UArts and the Hartt School, where they’ve already made her feel wanted through their very generous scholarship offers.</p>
<p>Time to move on to that next phase! There have been both happy and sad tears for weeks now. Now the true adventure begins!</p>
<p>Good luck to everyone and congrats on your wonderful acceptances.</p>
<p>One thing we’ve learned during this very long process is that there are some amazingly talented young people out there who have tremendously supportive parents. </p>
<p>I wish you all well on your futures as actors! This might be us signing off for the final time, but then again, who knows.</p>
