<p>Although my D has really already narrowed her BFA acceptances down to choosing between two of her schools, we still haven’t heard anything from UConn. Has anyone here received notice from them?</p>

<p>My D is into Sarah Lawrence and very excited about it. Has your daughter looked at it closely? One very cool thing they have is the opportunity to study at BADA for a year. </p>

<p>Thanks - it’s so hard to see so many rejections - my heart aches for her! She hasn’t looked at SLC it as closely as she should - after seeing your post, we’re are going to SLC’s Accepted Student’s day on April 11 - I’m trying to get her excited about SLC and the BADA program (I’ve bombarded her w/emails) - I think she’s bummed about the boy/girl ratio…I’m thrilled about SLC (just not the cost). </p>

<p>I’m curious as to whether anyone’s heard from UCONN, which her counselor is pushing. </p>

<p>I think she’d choose SLC over Fordham even if she ends up getting in - she wasn’t thrilled with the Lincoln Center Campus.</p>

<p>^^^Fordham LC is definitely not the place to be if your D is looking for a traditional college campus/experience. Just curious though…I know Fordham waitlists for the school but wasn’t sure the Theatre dept waitlisted. Was this an acceptance to the Theatre program if she got off the waitlist for the school? Or was she accepted to the school and waitlisted for the Theatre program? Best of luck in choosing the right program! :)</p>

<p>maggio528, I feel absolutely terrible for your D. ANY ONE posting here could be in the exact same position right now, and EVERY ONE should be sending prayers and hugs to you and your D. She might not be “feeling the love” from her BFA auditions, and that just plain stinks, but she has nice options.</p>

<p>I hope your D has a “plan B,” if she really wants a BFA. With a Sarah Lawrence acceptance, though, she must be an excellent student. And the Trinity and Fordham wait lists are definitely nothing to sneeze at, especially with their wonderful theatre programs. Does she have any other BFA schools besides UConn still out there? (We haven’t heard from UConn either, and the audition was in mid-Feb, so we’re expecting a no. A yes would be an unexpected and very welcome surprise at this point…) </p>

<p>Also, if your D ends up at SL, she can always transfer if she doesn’t like it if she has a decent GPA (I transferred out of Vassar to Georgetown back in the day, and i know theatre kids do it now, too, from all the NYU students we saw at auditions!). </p>

<p>Maggio528, we never talked stats in my house during audition season - they were too grim - and my D is a character actor, not an ingenue, not one of those easily castable kids that are the darlings of so many theatre programs. She knew it was going to be rough going, but that didn’t make the conservatory rejections any more tolerable. And if she had batted zero? I don’t know how well she would have handled it or if she would have found the strength and courage to try again next year. I wouldn’t have had the heart to even glance at this board on CC, I know that much. </p>

<p>All accepted BFA students and their parents, even the ones with an unseemly wealth of choices in the top mega-conservatories, should be EXTREMELY grateful for having beaten the odds.</p>

<p>Maggio, I feel the same way. Hugs to you all! It could happen to anyone.</p>

<p>The only possible suggestion I could make if your daughter is truly heartbroken about not being able to get a BFA would be to contact the University of Rhode Island. Their official deadline was February 1, but as we’ve seen many times on CC, public schools in particular are often able to make compromises.</p>

<p>They have a lovely degree at a lovely campus, and I’m sure your daughter would meet their academic criteria if she can get into Sarah Lawrence. They do not audition for admission, just do juries for advancement. </p>

<p>Niceguy 19…what did you decide? My D was accepted at Rutgers/ Emerson/Syracuse/DePaul/Ithaca/Elon BFA programs and will be a 20 yo first year student. She loves Rutgers but didn’t get any money.</p>
