Got your acceptance letter from Wooster? Post here and share the news with us!

I had applied early as part of an express application program and heard back on the 5th of November. The rest of my applications now seem a lot less stressful!

I495, Congratulations on your first acceptance! May I ask when you got your express app. and if it has different requirements than a regular or common app? Is the advantage the 21 day turnaround time? Just want to know, bc my son is probably going to apply next year.

lamiller, my son did not apply this year. I495, is the person who was just accepted! I was just trying to learn about the express app. for next year. My son is a junior. Lamiller, do you know what the perks of that app. are, and when they are sent out?

lamiller, I am happy to see that you still glance at this site, and post on occasion. It is wonderful to have a student here to answer our questions about Wooster!

oh i know :) i was speaking about things in general. haha, sorry about the confusion. i would actually be more active than i have been, but it's getting towards the end of the semester and i've been working on finals, only about 1-2 weeks left! :D

about the "perks app" as i'll nickname it....
if the admissions office is still using the same one they launched for my season, then you fill out the standard app info with it being a little more streamlined and easier, and lastly instead of having to write one big standard essay, you answer one or two shorter questions (don't remember exactly) but it's nothing like you have to do with the common app and everything. they give you all admission options, and there's absolutely no obligation to be Early Decision, so i'm making that very clear now. i actually would've used this perks app if i wouldn't have been 95% done with my common app materials. the other girl from my HS that applied and was accepted to COW used the perks app and chose to apply ED. she said it was very easy and a lot quicker to complete than the other applications she had completed as backups.

lamiller, only 2 weeks left for the semester, wow! Good luck on your finals! Make sure that you eat healthy foods, and try to get some rest.

Do you know when the perk app. is sent out (around when)? I think its worth it if you find out if you are accepted with a 21 day turnaround (even if you have to write a couple of brief essays that you did not use on the common app).

If I remember correctly, you can find the express application on Wooster's website. It doesn't seem like you have to wait for a special application to arrive in the mail.

i did the priority app and got everything at the end of oct and still haven't heard back b/c they said that they wanted fall trimester grades form me...my school works on tri's, so we couldnt get a transcript to her until the end of this week...

mattman, I read your chances thread and I am surprised that they want more info. I would have thought that you have been admitted. I still think that you will be accepted, assuming that your grades are similar this year.

i know right?
I'm not too worried about it though, im pretty sure im in, but they just wanted to see my grades, because most schools operate on quarters, so they already have grades sent, but trimesters just got their grades sent out...at least that's what i think the reasoning was...

the ED applicants receive both letters, regardless of acceptance or rejection, in a small/standard-size envelope. the RD applicants receive their acceptance letters in a large envelope, where it's inside of a nice COW folder with some other info about activities and such. i believe i still have my acceptance "package." if i do, i'll take a picture of it and post it in my photobucket to link here :) as far as i know, they only notify you by snail mail, but i would check with Admissions about the email notification as well just to be sure.

mattman, this seems to be pretty much standard procedure here, so i wouldn't worrry too much about it :)

I ended up being accepted
here are my stats:
