I'd be really grateful if you could please please please chance me and tell me how I can improve, thank youu! <3

I also need advice on whether or not I should apply early at Middlebury/Cornell because i need a good amount of aid, but my SAT score is low
Should i apply early with this score or apply regular with a hopefully higher December score…?

@accidentalnerd you do realize that I am Altamash Rafiq right? in any case, here are my views :-

Your ECs (don’t forget to exaggerate and cleverly boast!) and grades look solid and this application would be great (considering you have good essays and recommendations) if the SAT scores were good (which, for the colleges that you are aiming for, obviously aren’t). Cornell is poor with aid so I recommend scratching it off the list entirely. As for applying early to Middlebury is concerned, it is truly a tough call. Gah, this is one of those gut feeling situations that I do not like since I can’t strategize my way through this.

On the one hand, ED will help you tons as VERY few (if none) apply to Middlebury ED from Pakistan so your chances will be very strong considering that ED is binding and Middlebury wants Pakistani (diversity factor) students. There are tons of RD applicants so applying ED is a major advantage and safety from the large applicant pool (and hence the luck factor). However, remember that Middlebury is need aware for internationals so your need, compounded with the impact of bad scores, could really hurt you in the ED process. Middlebury might decide to wait for the RD applicants and defer you.

On the other hand, RD with a good score would be promising with this application (considering that you are a girl and that girls do not often send quality applications) however, the chances of you raising your SAT score significantly are not great. Then there is the applicant pool problem.

After weighing all the pros and cons, I would say go with ED Middlebury. But the ultimate decision is yours so do what you think is best.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed response; I know you must be very busy.
I’ve decided to apply ED II at Midd, with my November Sat subject test scores.
And yes, I do know who you are (quite a celebrity, haha)

Hello, i am also the student who is gonna apply to carnegie mellon university in qatar next year. As i am an international student, i dont have any information about CMUQ. How much is the difficulty of admitting in CMUQ, Business admistration. I heard that in terms of admission process the most important thing is specially math. I have ACT 29 and 800 on SAT subject test math level2c. i am really nervous.
If you have any information about CMUQ, could you share about it? i am really eager to study at CMUQ.
plz help me

I am terrified now since I am also applying to Middlebury ED2 from Pakistan and your stats looks stronger than mine. Out of curiosity, did you apply anywhere for ED1? If you did, where?

The only advantage I can see is that my ACT score of 32 is a little better but thats not much looking at your overall profile!

Regardles, I wish you the best of luck

It would be pretty weird if it turned out I know you… then again, Pakistan isnt that small.

Hi! It’s surprising just how many people are applying to Middlebury from Pakistan this year. :o (Though I think that’s pretty great :P)
@AShahid23 you might have the upper hand there bro, because I have a Sat II score of 2200 which I know isn’t all that.
I didn’t apply ED I anywhere. What about you?
