08'er here
DO NOT mess up this year
no pressure :)
but seriously work hard and try to get all the testing out of the way earlier so u dont get too stressed out

We're not all nerds here.

on CC at 3 04 am; you're as much of a nerd as I am.

I'm up this late all summer.

lol so true
theres the 1% of us in CC who are * normal * :)

*btw, its funny how we're all cc nerds. such high achievers. people at my school think im insane for taking 4 aps. and here i am finding people taking 7... *

rofl I know what you're saying. I just moved here to this new school in Hawaii and everyone thinks I'm crazy for taking 4 APs (school only offers 7 atm...I'll be taking the other 3 next year + any others they pick up). What they don't know is that I'm also self studying 5 APs in addition to the 4 rofl. There's only one other kid in the entire school taking 4 APs and he's this other Junior. He's pretty cool but judging by essays I've read written by him I'll easily dominate his face this year =[

Hmm this year here's my schedule lol.

9 APs - 5 independently
PSAT
SAT (mayb 2 times)
ACT (mayb 2 times)
USABO
SAT2's - Math2, World History, Bio E
+ EC's.

rofl this year is gonna suck.

It's already the first week of my junior year, and I am already kind of burnt out. IB+tennis everyday+orchestra+clubs+viola lessons.

I can't wait to catch up on my sleep this weekend. :)

Junior year 5 ap's. It may be not that bad of a year (still harder than spoh and fresh) though because i am not taking french (am like almost dyslexic in languages). lot of ec, and still have to have a life right?

junior...I'm already burnt out from 1200+ pages of summer reading and lots of summer hw...even though it's nothing compared to CC "standards"

ahhh I'm a junior too.
so much work!

5 APs and 6 Tests, 1 Honors
PSATS/SATS
One of my APs is Physics, and I hate science, but my only other option is to take Regular Physics (no Honors option) and that is just a stupid class.
Another of my APs is Lang which is taught by the toughest teacher in our school district.
fun.
Plus I need to raise my GPA. I'm hanging onto top 10% by a thread and I need to get more comfortably up there.
+I am taking out of school art classes and need to start putting together portfolios and collections for contests and enter them
+I need to start entering some essay contests.
+I think I'm going to try for TASP
+National History Day. This takes up like 5 hrs a week until Nov, and then 10 hrs a week until Feb, and then is just my life. During our weeklong winter break last year, my partners literally lived at my house for 5 days and we worked ~14-16 hrs a day. Nonstop. I know, we're crazyyy.
+This is so not going to happen but I wanted to submit something to the Nat Writing Board.

Hahaha my school won't let me take any more than 2 APs this year... APUSH and AP Spanish Lang. Still, it's going to be CRAZY. Plus managing the school recycling program for the Environmental Club, Art Club meetings, being Lit Mag editor, starting a school poetry slam, trying to start a social awareness forum (uphill battle), writing feminist awareness articles for the school newspaper, PLUS I need a freaking job... oh, it will be a fun year.

People at my school thought I was mentally insane for taking ONE AP in Sophmore year, and when I told em I got a 5 on the test and a 93 they were all like "HOLY %@)%#)%)#@%)#@)%@#)%"

Yeah, I'm a junior this year and I feel the pressure. Especially since my past two school years have been horrible(Grades ect.), so now I have to work really hard this year and next. But I'm excited because I will have all my classes done at the end of my first semester of my senior year so that I can graduate early..

oh yeah and also it just feels so important to get all your ECs/GPA/everything set. B/c at the end of junior year is when you actually realize the types of schools that will eventually by your safeties/matches/reaches

i m so excited 4 jr year lol :)

not really- for the 1st time ever i have to balance sports (FH) w/ academics (a very rigorous IB/AP sched.) on top of SAT prep, a million clubs, volunteering, and self-study 2 AP's.

Good luck everyone! get those 4.0's :)

I'm running for a national position of a certain club (cant say for confidentially reasons) so if I get it...jr year = no free time

haha good luck everyone
It's gonna be one heckofa year but I'm pretty sure I'll have as much fun doing it :D :D :D

Anyone taking CC course starting september? YAY to busing 2 hours a day :)

junior year lacked

Hooray for finally being old enough to be taken seriously on CC!!

(What? There's more to high school than CC?)

This year I need to
-Keep Grades Up in my 4 AP's and 1 Honors Class
-Get A's in Math and English (B's last year)
-Hopefully become a National Merit Semifinalist (got a 214 last year, but MD has the highest requirement at 221)
-Be nice to teachers and active in class for recs
-Work my butt of in newspaper so I can beat out this other girl for editor-in-chief junior year

And out of school/ec's
-Join MUN
-Get into Thespian Honor Society
-Do more theatre
-Direct a play
-Continue my hospital volunteering
-Start Shakespeare Club
