How are other New Englanders traveling to Ann Arbor? We found it more reasonable to fly to Baltimore and then on to Detroit. I think it is Air Tran. Once we get to Detroit I'm lost.

We flew from LaGuardia to Detroit with northwest. Once in Detroit, we took a taxi to Ann Arbor. The taxi was expensive. Anyone know of alternate transportation to Ann Arbor from the airport?

I flew from Laguardia also which was the cheapest on Northwest. But for orientation I am flying Northwest from Bradley, Hartford/Springfield (they're offering discounts on Northwest for orientation students, see the brochure), since parking is cheaper at Bradley.

I plan on going to UMich after getting accepted off the waitlist... UMich seems just a bit better than KU...

I am pretty sure I've decided to go to UMich after getting off the waitlist a couple days ago, I'm from FL, so it's going to be COLD!! First off, do you think i should visit? How hard is it to get into Ross your sophomore year? anyone else from FL going? WOO HOO, btw, my deposit is in at Umiami in FL and I have until 5/27 to accept UMIch's offer, I just need to know my aid, UMiami is giving me a full ride, so I'm not 100% sure, but I know UMIch is sooooooooo much better.

As an out-of-stater, I wouldn't count on a lot of aid. As for Ross, in the past slightly over 50% of the applicants have gotten in. However, this year, they accepted 70 "pre-admit" freshman, which will leave fewer spots. Other posts have indicated you will need about a 3.6 GPA to get in Ross. The applicant pool is self-selecting.

However, LS&A has a lot of other excellent majors to offer and if you can afford it, I would go for Michigan. I passed on a similar opportunity at my state's Honors College to go to Michigan, with the idea that if I didn't like it, I could always go back to the state school (however, getting into Michigan later is a lot tougher). I don't regret my decision one bit and look forward to starting at Michigan in the fall.

Awesome...Thanks for the words, I hope that I don't regret it if i choose to attend, but I mean, UMich will give a ton more opportunities than UMiami I believe.

jhum111 what part of florida are you from? I'm from central. Get the hell out of florida there's nothing special here execpt of you're old.

I'm from a real small town called Lake Placid, its about 2 hours south of Orlando 2.5 hours southeast of tampa, I am the first kid in my crappy public school to get into a top 25 school ever..

I've just been accepted to Umich from wait list!!!!!

Just noticed this thread.

OOS

LSA Honors for first year studying poly sci.

Preferred Admit into Ross from there onwards probably for management.

Everything is good for me at Mich with the plump financial aid and all. However, Im still not used to the feel of Ann Arbor. Didn't really like the town for some reason at campus day. Also, I got shafted away from honors housing.... >:(

Didn't like AA? Are you crazy? haha

But, seriously, of all the colleges I visited, Ann Arbor had the most unique, fun, genuine "collegetown" campus.

I enrolled
