Class of 2012 Acceptance Letters?

OMG I got accepted YAAY

Ugh. Jealous I want my mail ><

My daughter just got an email (we live in PA) of advance notification of admission and an offer to fund her travel to the Admitted Student Open House. This is the biggest thrill of her life!!! She was rejected by GW and Swarthmore, waitlisted by Brandeis. She was devastated this afternoon and then got this great news.

But congrats everybody :)

chestnut ME TOO

YAY!

Congrats, aerableparable! Hope this is your top choice - it is a great school.

YAY Chestnut! Hopefully I will see your daughter at the Admitted Student Open House.

It is not a 6% acceptance rate. That would be number of students who will enroll in the fall and number who applied. But, yield is like 40%, so more than double who get in don't end up going.
On a side note, I had heard that the admit rate was about 14%.

I can't wait to visit! This is the only LAC I applied to (because I didn't know anything about LACs while I was applying) and the more I read up about it, the more I like it.

The admit rate was 12%, according to the adcom who emailed me.

Should those of us who haven't gotten the emails offering to fund our trip to the Open House assume we aren't accepted? (This is domestic).

do Canadians count as Domestic?

I haven't heard anything: no e-mails, no letters, no nothing.

Ugh... no mail yet.
Well, no surprise.
I live in Florida.

But I'm pretty sure it'll be a rejection anyway, so I'm not gonna sweat it.

This is definitely my ultra reach school.

So far I've gotten into Florida State, Univ. of Florida, Tulane, and Mount Holyoke... all of which I laugh at and don't really want to go to.
I was resigned to going to Univ. of FL (because of financial reasons), but I got an acceptance to Colgate today w/ some hefty financial aid!
So that was exciting.
Especially after the Davidson waitlist yesterday.

Now I'm just waiting on Amherst and Emory.

But congrats to everyone who got in!
And good luck to everyone else.
Amherst is amazing, and I would absolutely love to get in, but alas, I'm quite sure that's not going to happen.

'Should those of us who haven't gotten the emails offering to fund our trip to the Open House assume we aren't accepted? (This is domestic).'

No....Well, my letter mentioned that the airplane ticket offer was done through their Diversity Recruitment Program...So shrug

I got in!! I can't believe they're offering to pay the travel expenses for me to visit. Congrats to those who got in and good luck to those who are still waiting!

Have there been ANY Americans overseas who've been emailed? If I get it by regular mail only, I won't find out for WEEKS. Does anyone know Amherst's policy about calling?

You lucky bastards on the East coast. Hopefully the letters will get to California by tomorrow.

Seconded, wyldeone! I'm in AZ and I'm dying to know!!

my son got his Amherst Letter today!! Im sure the rest of you wuill get letters soon! Good luck!!

may I ask..what region/area are you from? congrats on the acceptance!
