Let me clarify...if kids decide not to take their appointments, they are offered to others...I guess that's what you would call a waiting list.

Our friend's son turned down his appointment last week (19 March), so there is another one back in the hopper :)

Good intel, Boss. Thanks for answering questions!

I think your son has a very good shot, zfam. Very similar stats to my son way back when :D He heard on March 29th...hopefully you will too!

The regular mailman brings it.

It is a white, heavy, thick cardboard-type envelope with a priority mail sticker on it.

My S still has DodMerb waiver to obtain. If he gets a conditional appointment, will it be in the "big white package of joy" or just a skinny little envelope? We have been fearful of the skinny letter, but I am wondering if maybe conditionals are different?
This waiting is killing all of us!

Conditional appointment letter comes in little white envelope.

Thanks Sweetness62! We won't freak out when we get a skinny envelope then.

Still no word though...given the quiet on the boards I am guessing we are not alone. Poor DS can't take much more of this. (truth be told, it's his dad and me that are the real basket cases ;-)

Received my conditional appointment on Monday. Along with about twenty or so other preps from here. Also the self preps here who had to reapply have not heard anything at all either. I've been hearing next week for them so Keep your heads up. it takes a while sometimes. I know a kid who got his in June and one who got hers in May.

We are exploring the idea of prep school and reapplying next year. Would appreciate any advice or insight. What is a self prep? What are some good prep schools to attend? What should we know about reapplying? Thanks.

i just got mine TODAY! May 1. A bit late huh? Wow, I need to decide between this and an AFROTC Scholarship at Embry-Riddle doing flight. Tough....

Hope I can be of some help. I am a self prep cadet, what we are is basically we choose to attend one of the schools that the prep students are sent to. I currently attend Marion Military Institute, and am enrolled in there Service Academy Prep Program. The program is one year of demanding academics and full immersion into military life. The only other school that I know of is New Mexico Military Institute.
