Class of 2012 Boston College EA decisions

So only mail? It will take like 2 weeks to get here…
BC is killing me right now

I don’t want to wait any longer! I live in NH right on the Massachusetts border, so I’m really hoping my decision will be here by Saturday… Monday at the latest.

I should look at last year’s thread, since I remember getting my letter after people to the west of me.

Thats because their decsion was made before your’s was, there were also people in Mass that got the letter the first day they were mailed out.

anyone else having trouble signing in to their agora??

Excellent example of critical thinking skills, which will serve you well in life. :)

btw: just bcos their decision was made before yours, doesn’t mean that they are a higher quality/priority candidate. It could just mean that you regional rep was out that day, and no decisions were made on that reps’ territory on that day. Or the printer jammed…or the post office was slow…

I am going crazy!!! I live in Puerto Rico, but am visiting my dad in Oregon and won’t be back til January 8th!!! It’s horrible, the wait ,I mean.

I’m from metro boston and we did not receive anything today.

They prolly mailed them in afternoon, i hope ughhh i cant take this wait!

I hope it arrives in northern Virginia at least by Monday… I CAN’T TAKE THIS!

Called Admissions Office and letters were mailed this afternoon

This is scary. I hope I receive tomorrow (but unlikely).

Does anyone have any changes in the agora portal?

Nope…none here.

Me neither

My Georgetown EA letter was postmarked last Friday in DC and arrived here (Ga.) Monday

My friend (NJ) was also deferred by Georgetown last Friday in DC and she received her letter Saturday. BC is about the same distance…

Dear All : Let me offer you all some proactive thoughts for this Saturday morning. All of the worry and fear in the world at this point will not change the results of your early admission reviews.

[1] Regular Decision Application Health Check - As we have advised for several years, now - today - is the time to make sure that all of your other regular decision applications are in order with all application elements completed. Be sure to review the status of all those applications, make sure that there are no missing components that would heavily impact you if Boston College should defer or reject your application.

[2] Prioritize Your Selections - Spend a few minutes to consider what the priority of your other schools would be. Make sure you already know the pecking order in your mind. Know what your decision matrix looks like to decide among the remaining institutions.

[3] Finances - Have the conversation with your family if you have not already to make sure everyone is aligned on the financial requirements and what your family can realistically handle. Do not place yourself in a position where you are misaligned financially by $15,000 or more per year and have no idea how to fund the gap. Think critically about finances.

[4] Thank You Notes - Be sure to write a brief holiday note to all of the teachers, mentors, counselors, and others who helped review your application or who prepared material in support of your bid. How you exit the situation is as important as how you enter it. Think about it.

In closing, the hard fact is that many of you - in fact most of you - will likely not attend Boston College. Somewhere around 2/3rds of you will be deferred or rejected in the next couple of days. From the 1/3rd accepted, roughly 2/3rds of you will decide not to attend due to other acceptances that come along, financial issues, or other personal reasons. The goal for today should be to have your decision making in place for later December. Stop fretting over the “big envelope” coming and harness your energy for something proactive today.

Most importantly, have a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Holiday season, and a Happy New Year with family and friends!

To all those in the northeast, Good Luck today! Im sure that you will hear back. The rest of the country will be eagerly awaiting to hear your results and get our own early next week!

Sincerely,
a Michigander

I thought we ha to wait until Christmas? Also, will only acceptances be mailed today or deferrals/rejections also?
