aznfishy-the only ll I am aware of for Cornell are for recruited athletes-and this info. is based upon second hand info from a parent of student, etc.

Sybbie-thanks for the info. I will check the posts to get some more info. It is interesting how one can come away from reading a thread ( as I did) thinking one thing-only to see a different perspective when those with different experiences way in. Sybbie-your last line in most recent post should be the mantra of every senior and family who are still waiting for letters from schools they really want to attend. Sage advice!

Oh damn, i just received mail from Dartmouth and it said me about my status page's username and pass :( . It was written 12nd of Feb. What a pain !!!

i could be wrong, but i think the second wave of letters just got sent (unless it's the 3rd and i missed something), but i got mine today, dated feb. 29. not a urm, legacy, or athlete.

mahavir10 -
SATs: 2290 total (760, 760, 770)
SAT IIs: 730, 740, 800
GPA: 4.095 UW (A = 4.0, A+ = 4.33)
Rank: School doesn't rank, but I'm pretty sure I'm top 2
ECs: Heavily involved in debate (state champs), field hockey (state champs x 2, All-State), and lacrosse (state champs), cello for 9 years, and then some smaller random ones.
My essay was pretty good, so were my recs, but my debate coach sent in a supplemental recommendation and it was top-notch.

piratemonkey - relatively close, but not next door

congratulations!
well, i hope all of us who are waiting get one too...but if not, i guess we'll get in where we're meant to get in--dartmouth or some other great school--b/c i think all of us have good chances with at least one school.
at least that's the attitude i'm adopting at this point.

yeah i'm trying to stay positive too but it's stressful thinking about how much these decisions will change my future. Some days I feel like I'll get into 2 or 3 of my reach schools and then other days i feel like there is no way any of the US schools I applied to will ever take me.

So basically decisions need to come out ASAP :)

Oh good then! I sent mine out mid-December as well. I think they generally send out the letters based on when you applied...or when they get around to reading your app, which is largely based on when you applied.

Do you really think it has to do with the date of application? I'm pretty sure that all have been read by now. I thought it had to do with number of letters per school.... if they are going to the top candidates, then maybe they have a limit to the number of letters that go to students from the same school, since they all can't be in the top percent of applicants. Someone in my school got a ll over 1 month ago, and is definitely not going to go... its a shame... was already accepted to first choice, Y, and has no intention of attending D

I don't think it's done by date of application, either. I was in what I'm assuming was the "first wave" of LL's and I barely got my app in by the deadline.

GymKid: Wow, so if s/he applied to Y and got in...and has no intention of choosing D over Y, why did s/he ever bother to apply in the regular round?

I don't think the time you sent your application has anything to do with . Remember that all of the applications are sorted and sent to the regional admissions officers. Each application is given at least 2 reads. There will be some students that will be auto admits , there will be some that will be auto denials but the bulk of the applications are going before the committee for vote.

Please stop beating your self up over this. THis is now march so by the end of the month everyone will know one way or the other.
