Class of 2014: Where are you applying?

@nickps, man we are looking for same thing…

My list is a bit modest compared to all of yours. But… prestige comes in different forms.
Loyola New Orleans
High Point
Morehouse
Brooklyn College
Lynn University
Howard
Skidmore
NYU
University of San Francisco

My list of schools that will definitely not change are:
MIT
Brown
U Rochester
Smith
Barnard
Wellesley
UCs: Berkeley, San Diego, UC Santa Cruz
BU
University of Pittsburgh

There are others I’m still trying to decide whether I should apply or not.

@TPJrNY:

2 historically african-american colleges [correct me if I am wrong]! Have you visited? I always wondered what Morehouse would be like. I’d love to know your thoughts!

@Apollo11 – yep, two of the schools are HBCUs. I’ve visited Howard but not Morehouse. Howard was such an awesome school. School spirit was very apparent by way of sweaters, beanies, etc. Their communications program is top 25 in the country [my prospective major] and a degree from Howard is VERY well respected. Also, Howard is apart of the DC consortium so I can courses and use the resources of schools like Georgetown, GWU, and American. I’m hoping to apply Early Action.

^Sounds like a great school! Are there any non-African-Americans? I’m asian! However, that sounds like so much fun with communications, especially when American, GWU and especially Georgetown have great complementing classes [Imagine some IR classes at Georgetown’s SFS].

I hope you get in! Good Luck!

Rising senior who wants to go into Nursing
Cal State: Long Beach, Sacramento, San Diego State, San Jose State, Sonoma State, Fullerton
UC Irvine
UC Davis

^Let me guess…you’re from California!

UC Davis’s Nutrition Sciences/Clinical Nutrition looks really cool!

Most HBCUs are about 90% African American Apollo.

I’ve already applied to the University of Alabama just for the sake of knowing I am into a good safety that I like.

Later I’ll apply to:

UIUC
U Wisconsin
Notre Dame
Carnegie Mellon
University of Illinois in Chicago
Northwestern
Depaul University
Marquette
Case Western

You would be right! I’m only applying to state schools because I love California and plus I get to go tuition free since my dad retired from the military- saves a lot of money in the long run

Welp, here’s where I’m applying to:

University of the Sciences

The Ohio State University

University of Pittsburgh

Penn State

Virginia Tech

Salisbury University

The University of Chicago (It’s worth a try lol)

@Apollo11 Yes Minnesota has a very good business school in Carlson. It is probably the “maybe” that I am most likely to apply to, because being from Wisconsin I would get in state tuition.

@drexter I am curious what drew your attention to similar schools? What do you think you will major in?

I’m a rising senior from NC!

UNC-Chapel Hill
UNC-Wilmington
George Washington University
Boston College
UNC-Asheville (safety)

Possibly:
American University
Georgetown University

@TenMore

Alabama already has their application open? I was thinking about applying their, because I am kind of looking for a bigger school, and because of their guaranteed Merit scholarships.

@katastophic I know UCSF has an AMAZING medical program. I’m not sure if that translates into a good nursing program, but it couldn’t hurt to take a look at it

if you want to trust rankings (i dont usually), its number 4

Harvard and Oxford and Stanford.

^ Yale is his safety.

@redhuntinghat

I did not start this thread to brag. Personally, I am not applying to any Ivy Leagues or any schools that most people have heard of. I started the thread because I am honestly curious about where people are applying. I wanted to know if anyone was applying to any of the same schools I am.
