does connecticut college only take students from Bnks except last year? Were those students accepted in ED or RD?Anyone? Seniors…please

i think many do accept nov sat reports…brown said it does, n many more do as well…just email them…adcoms say that they will wait for final sat reports to come n decide on the final verdict …

XD!! cheche !! wat u saying!!! only from bnks re!
teso hunna …if ur application shows ur apetite for conn coll, they’ll choose u…

@prasadian, are you from prasadi? hahaha… i am really curious. And yeah, apparently a extremely talented guy from bnks had gone to conn coll and from then probably because of the impression he create or smth,conn coll took 4,5 bnks student in a row. Except last year - they took from Ullens or smwhere

@cheche
XD.It’s not like that.As prasadian said if you are the perfect fit for the college they will take you regardless of which school you from.
^^^^It must have been some kinda coincidence or applicants from other colleges weren’t that much fit for the college.

Yeah…probably coincidence. True!

yup im from prasadi…u cant imagine wat im going through recently…i could REALLY use a counselor thesedays…apparantly prasadi considers appointing a counselor is simply waste of money!!

Last year apparently some very arrogant guy from bnks was claiming that no one will get in connectuit except the captains (or vice-captains) of BNKS. THat guy was shown the truth when the results were out. BNKS has loads of talented students with an amazing profile and on top of that, their school is more recognized (because students have gone to almost all the top colleges in US in different years) So its hard for students at other college who have very limited resources (they dont have resourceful seniors, no GC at most places, most of the friends are not upto applying to good colleges so lack of fruitful discussion, teachers dont know how to write proper recommendations)
Comparively its easier for them and add a talented student to the resouces they have, and you get a lucrative admission file. Thats the main reason for many acceptances. Its not like they have some-kind of fixed qouto for bnks students (As people used to claim before about places like REED, Connectuit, Colby, St.Johns). They had better files so they got admitted.

If you have a better admission file than anyone else from nepal and the college has the resources (as most of the people from nepal need aid) to give you admission, then you will be admiteed. Not someone else just because he came from bnks or rbs.

i totally consent with here123…no offense to our bnks/rbs bro n sis but we do lack many things…u wont believe me but when i went to prasadi few days back to collect my 12th marksheet, the faculty told me that i needed to pay rs100 /reco.plus the content of the reco was same for the topper of the colz to the topper from behind!!! just hes-a-diligent-student type recos, no insights on students nth!! so i personally asked my teachers who know quite well to write it down for me which to my grt relief , they agreed ! this is just an example of wat we have gone across n wat we still have to go through! n sh#t ,i also have a strange feeling that my princi wont even know if theres a university thats goes by the name of harvard!n i seriously doubt that!

agree with here123 and prasadian. Bnks knows what an app requires. Other colleges think all where Nepalis go are Community College. I feel sad for you Prasadinan, my college finally got a decent guidance counsellor.

@here123
I absolutely go with your views.BNKS use to be the leader in sending its students to top colleges and universities just because they have all that they need like GC/EC who knew how to write a proper recommendation,plenty of ECAs and many more.Most colleges(with some exceptions)lack all these things.So the students admission file appears to be weak from these college.

^^^Agree with u guys. Its really sad that people from colleges outside the elite block of nepalese education hardly get good facilities of career counseling. And what happened till now was not domination by BNKS and RBS…it was just like this: they were going to good colleges coz they had no competitors! Since people are getting aware these days that going to US does not mean going to a state university or some community college…the competition is really tough and that is what putting the so called history made by those schools to an end…( P.S I don’t have any kind of hard feelings towards anyone from BNKS/RBS)

@here123 In case of arrogance, I remember one guy(senior) from BNKS VERY MUCH. Too much arrogant. What he always used to say is Reed is a place where everyone from BNKS goes…even the worst student from our school goes to Reed…sometimes I felt like giving him a big punch in his face but he was a senior…finally when the decisions came out…he was accepted nowhere…and later went to a very easy college after waiting for like 2 years!

@all
very very much agreed with all of you… the reality is that the BNKS and RBS are gonna get tough competitions nowadays so now I see a lil bit of decrease in their arrogance you kno else they would be claiming this and that but now we all are in the ground to give a tough competitions even though the resource is on their side we too don’t stay that back… we must utilize each and every chance we get and finally
USEF rocks!!!

@confidential
I just think I have seen about that post some where in cc(previous year’s thread)but not sure or may be heard of that arrogant person…
@all
Apply to which ever colleges you think you have a chance to nail it!!!
10 Chairs!!!

lol… you guys sound like militants marching onto a battlefield.

and comments on resources… nothing is served onto a platter for us either. All of us spend a lot of time searching for colleges, aid, and others. The edge you speak of is so small, I find it almost insignificant.

@conf2015
no competitors? Do not forget that the international pool of applicants applying for financial aid is extremely competitive in itself. I wouldn’t assume competition between the people of the same school / country. You can see last year acceptances to TrinColl from Nepal. And the year before that (2013), I heard that 7+ people were accepted to Stanford from Malaysia alone.

The best way to make out of a college application is, you are competing with yourself, to show them the best you are.

@chandal
Perhaps generalizing characteristics to all people from the two institutions would be stupid.

^^bro…i agree with you but we should not forget that we are the ones who ask for a lot of aid… Malaysians usually pay a lot of money to goto US colleges…even Nigerians(the ones who usually goto US colleges from Nigeria are the people who sell their OIL to SHELL), one interesting fact I found was there are a lot of Bhutanese students studying in the US and almost all of them pay more than 25k a year! Thanks for replying…

hmm…seems like a lot of lafayette applicants here. Awesome.

And yeah, it doesn’t matter which school you are from. They don’t care squat about your high school, all that matters is you. Find your perfect match and apply ED. That’s it, it doesn’t need to be top notch IVY, all that matters is if the college is a match for you.

Have fun class of 2015, application process was fun. I miss it.
Lafayette '14

which are the very few colleges that do not require or those who don’t recommend even SAT 1 Scores + they give good aid to International + top 50 LAC+ in the north east.

I know i am asking for a a little too perfect competition, but anyways, if there are any please let me know.

@conf

from what I know, the international “aid” pool, for example in MIT, has around 3000 applicants and around 100 acceptances. The ratio is almost the same for most colleges.
