1st of all, u need to concentrate a lot in CR section (4 questions which you’ll attempt by yourself) and have a very very limited time to cheat…

2nd, USEF advisors told me that the sections of each set is shuffled. That means, even if u and ur frens come out solving the same SAT test, you’ll b testing different sections each time and u cant cheat…The question paper distribution is somewhat crisscross like those that we hav in SENT UP exams… in this pattern:
A B
B A
A B
so it will b pretty tough 4 u to cheat in limited time…
And what if the one frm whom u cheat has more troubles in SAT than u???
You’ll be dead!!!

But I am still not sure abt the arrangements of test papers…
Will check it on test day…
U, have lods of cheatin on the test day and if u find a useful tip then share it wid me…
I’ll use them on Dec test…
:)

^when there is a will there is a way…:D…and regarding the question paper pattern i don’t think so…becoz one of my friends copied from another guy and he got 2100…m not so sure though…

^^
thanx for considering me but let me warn u…
Sitting with me will just waste ur money…
U’l end up with 520-600 in CR…surely not more than that…hahah
U better catch sarbaraj101 or confidential2015, they score higher than me…
lol…

Guys there’s no magic about CR. At first, I didn’t believe it myself, but the more you practice, the better you get. Of course you need to practice deliberately. And the modified methods I have created may not work that well for all of you…

First a word on studying vocab: it will definitely help to study vocab in relation to the reading comprehension, but for sentence completions, study roots, prefixes and suffixes.

For passages, Grammatix works wonders. Just try to catch the “wrong” patterns given there. It’s blatantly simple once you get the hold of it. If you are a swift reader, I also recommend that you MAKE SURE that you cancel the 4 other options after finding the right one.

Of course, I can’t really say what is going to happen in the real thing. I just hope for a great CR score too… unlike Math and Writing, honestly speaking, my CR is affected by the type of passage that comes on the test: easier to answer scientific over history, for eg.

Don’t over-think about this one, but in some sense, all the passage based “correct answers” will seem a bit more logically flowing that the wrong answers.

Parting advice, stay completely in focus: stop looking at that oh-so-hot guy/girl / singing a tune / thinking about stupid stuff / whatever else when u are doing CR. :p

people! do not hope to cheat, even in SXS. i gave my SAT once already n there are about 3-4 invigilators in one classroom and they were looking at us every time. they’ll see u trying to do anything funny and they’ll warn u before not allowing u to give exams. but then again it could’ve just been like that in my classroom. anyways, my experience says that even SXS has become kiinda strict. and if anyone’s curious about my scores, it was 550 in CR, 660 at math n 710 at writing , which were all nearly the same as what i used to get practicing at home. so practice tests may give a rough idea of your scores but of course there will always be exceptions like this one person i knew who used to get 670 practicing at home in the CR section but got 770 in the actual test.

perhaps the person did not use the official tests or maybe the passages were conducive to the person… you never know. And I’d agree with you on the cheating part. People stop thinking about cheating. There are measures employed by the college board, too. They check MCQs for patterns using some algorithms.

when do we have breaks during the SAT test???
will we have a min or two after we are done with a section…or will there be a single break after we have fifth section…???

I too took a lot of practice tests (+25). I made my journey from 470 to 610 (I got 610 only thrice in THE OFFICIAL SAT STUDY GUIDE) and I generally score 520-580…But now I think that I’ve come to my saturation point.I finished most of the books (except GRAMMATIX-which I didnt know- and will be reading for Dec test) but still hanging around 550…
In my view, once we reach our saturation point, we cant swiftly increase our scores…but this is just my view…And so I havent touched books/practice materials since last two weeks and wont b touching tomorrow as well…I have left everythin 4 THE GOD now…

I hope SHE b** helps me !!!
:D

I have no idea what you mean by saturation point, but let me tell you this: in general, increasing the score from 400 to 600 is a lot easier than making an increase, say, from 700 to 750. The better you get, the less options you have to improve.

I agree wid u that increasing score from 400 to 600 is easier than from 700 to 750.And abt saturation point, I meant that once u reach a certain point, it gets very tough for u to go over it…
And as I said earlier, I found it in my case… from 470 to 550…and then I had a tough time getting 610…

^^
i completly agree with you… same here with the ACT its not that hard to go 27 from 24 but way way hard to go more than that… hard doesn’t mean impossible but its damn hard… and yes best of luck to all the Oct test takers… @all
woooooo we are on our 101th page… sarba and all the 101s!!! its your page guys (kidding)

@durlav1n1: nope, not true. we all used to get the same section. i found that out during the toilet breaks lol and the breaks, i think it depends on the invigilator. just don’t hope for a break which is longer than 10 mins. but this is all in relation to SXS.
i really hope this second time will prove to be lucky for me! this time my average is above 600 in CR and above 700 in math (collegeboard book ma at least) so i hope it stays this way or higher in the real test as well :D

That is blatantly incorrect. Not everyone gets the same question paper. There are 3 or 4 variations. The “codes” on the question paper are different. But again, it may depend on how many students there are in the hall etc. They do have the variations though; I’ve seen it myself.

And yes, I have had people claiming to me that the collegeboard practice test are a bit harder than the real deal, but it seems to be an individual thing. Come to think of it, I did get a bit higher on the real thing in the writing section than in the practice test…

hey! it’s not “blatantly incorrect”!! that’s all through my experience. my friends and i got the same sections! and so did some other girls as per their talks during the breaks. it couldn’t just be a co-incidence! it’s all through what i saw and heard that day and that’s why i’m sharing. it may be different at different places, this is just my side of the story which can’t be ‘blatantly’ wrong!

@sabaraj
What were your previous scores?
I am sure about getting 750-800 in the maths section and 600-650 on writing but on CR i have never crossed 550(also not below 510) on the official practice test.
