How did you decide what APs to take?

HN means honors I think.

@ejames I’d do AP US. Its definitely the tougher class and some schools (lkke mine) don’t even have honors segregations for Spanish.

@typeakid would it look bad though if the school gave span 2 as an option but my individual schedule didn’t allow it? In the end I did choose ap :)

@ejames2016 Have you only taken one year of language? Colleges like to see 3-4 years of language.

@55al00m I’m a sophomore so last yr 9th grde I toook span 1 (they didn’t have hnrs) this year I’m taking span 2 reg unfortunately. I plan to teach myself span 3 over the summer so tht I can do IB span in 11 and 12th grade :)

Pre-IB English
Pre-IB Chem
Pre-IB World History
Pre-Calc/Calc AB
Spanish 5-6 Honors <<< can’t take full IB classes till 11th grade
AP Environmental Science
AP Psychology

Wanted to take Physics and Stats as electives, but apparently the stats teacher quit. Plus, I’ll have to take IB Physics in 11th grade, and I’ll probably take stats in 11th grade too. So the counselor put me in those AP classes. Should I switch to another language or science class?

Lucky ■■■■■■■, your school has badminton? The only sport I can manage without fainting, and my school doesn’t have it. I’ll just stick to ballet and piano.

Wow and I thought I had a fairly hard schedule! For the record, my school does offer a ton of AP classes…just not to sophomores.

To everyome asking about an AP class, I could say at, least in my school the workload was very manageable if you didn’t procrastinate. Effort really was key. Compared to the regular classes at my school, the main difference as I was told by teachers was in the normal class you’d be taught the material over and over in class while in the AP you were expected to read and learn the material as homework while discussing it in class. It really was pretty manageable though. I took AP World and got an A both terms (I procrastinated and had to cram the workload a bit though) and a 4 on the exam perhaps due to some sketchy erasing on my part and the simple fact I chose to get 4 hours of sleep, not study, and wing it :). Really any motivated person should thrive in an ap class.
