Class of 2017 EE Thread

But I was on the" Posibble"
thou

If you’re a possible, get as high grade as you can. Obviously an A- is better than a B+…

For those likely recipients who think a B+ mid-year score will put them in the reject pile, don’t think like that. For grades to be bad enough for that to happen, you need to go from straight As to straight Cs without an explanation (sickness, family matters, etc)

I know right wellesley10… I got 89.7 … Asked teacher if I could do anything for extra credit… He gave me a big lecture on ethical and integrity issues . Oh well… Just found out I am on waitlist … Little disappointing …

@ wellesley10: Have any idea how many waitlisted got in last yr ?

No clue on exact statistics, but some do get in each year.

Thank you wellesley10

got a possible letter in early evaluation and now i’m waitlisted.
uhhh what do i do?

I guess we did all we could already kendrick

@socalgirlnguyen yeah :(

Don’t give up yet! If you’re set on being accepted off the waitlist, first you’ll have to show your continued interest in Wellesley. Have you visited campus? Sat in on a class? If you interviewed, reach out to your interviewer to get her thoughts. If you know any current students or alums, reach out to them too. You’ll also want to keep up your grades this semester and not go through a senior slump. You still have to show adcom you can handle the academics!

well @wellesley10, i already had my guidance counselor call and write in for me, wrote a letter of updated interest, and had my alumni interviewer write in to the admissions office between the time i got my possible letter in early evaluation. i feel like whatever i do is pointless. the only thing i haven’t done is visit the campus. idk if it’s worth it at this point.

I contacted my regional adcom right after the possible letter and sent in letter of continue interest to her per her request. I live in southern Cal , and have no opportunity to visit but went to Sister Colleges open house in LA last October . Well, I will try to have additional recommendation letter from the hospital I am interning , is that work ?

Wait listed, I was also on the possible list in the early evaluation process. Is Wellesley a school that does pull from the wait list?

It looks like 2 B plus out of 6 AP/IB classes kinda killed my chance

My best friend is ranked number 4 in our class, has a 31 ACT, and got a green card from the swim coach, but was rejected last night. She plays a few different instruments and was captain of the swim team and qualified for states. Any thoughts on why she didn’t get in? It was her safety so she’s really upset l.

Officially accepted  A friend of mine also got in yesterday, so it was a great day. haha.

Officially accepted. Such a relief. I’m still waiting on financial aid, though…

I had a 31 ACT, 4.9 GPA, tons of multi-year ECs, and I will have taken 10 AP classes by the time I graduate. I had a pretty good interview and showed lots of interest. I think my “hook” was a documentary project that I’m working on with a group of classmates about eating locally.

Officially accepted!
32 ACT (27 in science, so my ACT looks higher individually, don’t know if that’s a factor), 5.0 + GPA, state champ in debate, good interview, hook was probably my economic activism and I really played up my hometown of Danville, Kentucky.

On the website it says last year Wellesley has 500 wait listed and admitted 30-40.
