Reflection
Strengths: Public Speaking, Writing, not many AP classes available at my high school, no honors courses at high school
Weaknesses: rich, white, Jewish, and female, lower senior year grades because of course load and theater which is a massive time suck
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: no idea, did not think i would even necessarily get into the school
General Comments: The college experience sucks and is arbitrary. Everyone was telling me I’d get into Brown University ED no problem and i was deferred while my friends got accepted into UPenn and Harvard. But even if one school or program doesn’t see the potential in you, another will. It doesn’t even half to be a college. My super smart friend is taking a gap year to explore his Brazilian heritage. That sounds more awesome than any stuffy university I know of

sorry compnerd. that was for zombiedante who said not to trust posts. im a new member and still figuring out the ropes

no worries. it came across a little strange but you clarified. Congratulations to you too, for this wonderful accomplishment and opportunity. I understand your cynicism - we have certainly felt enough of it ourselves and know for sure the process isn’t perfect and definitely not always fair, but do be grateful for what you do get! - not everyone is so fortunate to get this this type of excellent opportunity (much less the financial boon) at even one school, even with similar wonderful / amazing / astounding accomplishments.

Anyone heard about Langsdorf yet?

@woolf Yes, even me. You don’t know anything about me. However, with that said I would like to say that I’ve just done a lot of research and don’t claim any of it to be 100% right, but it’s as close as it’s going to get.

anything on langsdorf?

Any Evrin? Also what is landsdorf? I don’t remember seeing that.

EDIT: Nvm. I’m dumb

any news on University Scholars Program in Medicine? I applied for that as well.

When/how do you think they’ll be announced?

Does anyone know how many Rodriguez finalists are there and what the chances are for each finalist to get a scholarship?

Everyone, relax… There are still a lot of calls that they haven’t made yet. I doubt they will get through them all, so most of us will just have to wait until tomorrow around 5pm to find out on the pathway.

can someone bump last year’s thread? I can’t find it.

Haha how do you know there are a lot of calls still left?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using CC

You people…always the first to question and when an answer is given you question that…anyway…

@wallrus I was referring like every post being a question

@scienceman1 Look at what scholarships have been called already and compare them to all that are offered…basic reasoning…

Different perspective: I’m an Ervin Scholar (BME class of '10), currently in med school. It seems like the calls happen earlier each year! When I applied in 2006, mine came on Feb. 27th (a Monday, I think). Even though it’s been a while, I know the anxiety and anticipation you all must be feeling. What I remember most vividly about the call is the adorably off-handed way the admissions officer said “Oh and by the way, this is also means you’ve been accepted to WashU.” :)

If you’re at finalist weekend, I encourage you to talk to as many of your fellow finalists as possible. It’s inspiring and humbling to hear what everyone has accomplished. These are people you’ll be genuinely proud to know and consider as friends.

My younger brother is currently in your shoes, hoping for a call. I wish you all the best!! If any future Ervins have questions, I’d be more than happy to try and answer.

Has anybody heard anything for Mylonas or Nemerov?
