D has been accepted!!! Her app was never listed as complete on Gibson - she went straight from “Secondary School Report Needed” yesterday to “Congratulations” today. I know the SS report went in the mail last week, so I was hoping to confirm its arrival - I guess it got there!

She is a performing arts applicant & I know that counselor has been on the road, so perhaps he knocked a bunch out on his return.

So - I feel kind of bad that I found out before D - my inclination is not to tell her & let her get the letter in a few days. Thoughts??

I don’t think she does! I was planning, once her app was listed as complete, to tell her to start checking. I assumed there would be a week or two of “app complete” before the decision - LOL.

Congrats to all those who have been accepted! We are still waiting… D sent in her application on September 11th and scores on October 24th. Her application was marked complete on Monday 10/28. She’s been checking the website constantly and has become quite anxious since so many of her friends have already heard from other colleges. Tulane is her top choice. She has shown a lot of interest over the past year through emails to her Admission Counselor, we attended my niece’s graduation last May and my D met with and had a one-on-one chat with her Admission Counselor then participated in a group info session and toured the campus. Recently, she attended a “Tulane Comes to You” reception and was thrilled when the Admission Counselor remembered her by name! Her stats are: SAT 1930, ACT 28, GPA 4.01 (weighted) with honors, 3 AP classes and lot’s of community service. I just hope it’s enough.

We will hope for good results with you, cis108. Your D’s application sounds similar to Carb’s D. Certainly the interest level your D has shown should help. Admissions to schools like Tulane are always hard to predict, though. Hopefully positive energy counts as well.

That’s exactly what I just did - I sent her an email saying that her app was complete & she should start checking her status, as decisions were being made pretty quickly (understatement of the year!) I expect an excited phone call about 3:00 this afternoon as soon as she is able to check email after school.

14wilsc12 - Hannah was my D’s admissions counselor, and we are in-state so she was a guaranteed acceptance and she still didn’t get her acceptance until Dec 15 last year (along with the Founder’s Scholarship). I know it’s hard to be patient, but they are looking at lots of applications…Good Luck to you!

Congrats to everybody who has been accepted so far!

Hey guys, senior here. Congrats to everyone who has been admitted so far, you all have very, very impressive stats! I submitted my app on the 20th and it was complete on either Monday or Tuesday, and I have to say that I’m getting a little worried about my chances of being admitted to Tulane.

My statistics aren’t particularly outstanding. GPA is 3.4 weighted, ACT is 30. I go to a very academically rigorous high school in the midwest and have had trouble over the years as is shown by my weak GPA.
However; I have a number of extracurriculars (Theater all 4 years, Theater Tech all 4 years, Digital Audio Production, Senior Class Vice President, School Newspaper Editor, a number of other paid jobs) and I am close with the teachers that wrote my recommendations.

I visited Tulane last Spring and fell in love with it. When Tulane came to my school I stayed after and told my admissions counselor how interested I was in the school. I went to another informational session that night (and listened to basically the same presentation again) and thanked the counselor, hopefully reinforcing how interested I am in the school.
I know that since I have already submitted my application the outcome is pretty much out of my control but I have been checking Gibson almost hourly for the past two weeks.

I know the feeling, soundshaper. My stats aren’t that impressive, either, and we have the same ACT score (not SO bad, lol)…my app was just marked as complete today, and even so, I can’t stop checking Gibson! haha. I didn’t even get interested in the school until a couple months ago, and now I’m in love with it! I’m so nervous I won’t get in.

It’s obvious you really love Tulane, and I hope admissions sees that. Now all we can do is wait. I wish you the best of luck!
