Class of 2018 ED2 and RD

Anyone have any idea when early writes are sent out? I’m curious.

Did Smith do early writes last year?

After searching old threads, I found this:
<a href=“Early writes? - Smith College - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/smith-college/1464737-early-writes-p1.html</a></p>

So, yes, I think they did.

Thank you. My daughter applied RD, no financial aid requested. It sounds like many who to the early writes also got some merit aid. That would be nice for us! Of course, our first concern is whether she is accepted!

MiCharge, Smith is doing early writes for RD this year, too (I just got mine today, yay!). I had applied for financial aid, but I can’t say whether that affects the early writes decisions. Good luck to your daughter!

@flechette, congratulations!!. Did you get the admission by email, or post mail (USPS, Fedex)? Did your online status on Smith.edu change?

My daughter got one today as well, via snail mail, with a nice note from the Dean. She didn’t say anything about her online status. We didn’t request financial aid. The letters says financial aid info will be sent with the formal acceptance on March 21st. Very exciting!

Congratulations to you both! My daughter didn’t get anything in the mail today. She really loved Smith, and I think she would be a good fit, so I hope she gets accepted. We are on the west coast - are either of you on this side of the country?

My daughter received an early write letter today as well. She is on Smith’s side of the continent so it was probably mailed yesterday. The handwritten note with the letter was a wonderful touch.

Congratulations!!

My daughter also received an early write letter with a handwritten note! She’s so excited but was concerned about the “small” envelope before she opened it! Postage meter says 2/20 and it made it across the state in a couple of days.

My daughter received an early write acceptance today as well! What an unexpected surprise, and she is of course thrilled (as are we)!! We live in New Jersey, so not that far away.

Congratulations!! I would like to know if early writes are also sent to international students. I live in Republic of Georgia.

My D just got an early write yesterday also. First class mail. No idea what her online status is. She hasn’t really been checking those things, as the assumption was that nothing more would be said until April.

How many went out last year? Was there significant overlap with the STRIDE scholarships?

My D got the letter and she is in. Hopefully the scholarship will come too to make sure we can afford it.

My D got her letter today! She is thrilled! The handwritten note from the Dean is such a nice personal touch.

I got my early write yesterday, along with my “likely” early evaluation decision from Wellesley. Hopefully I’ll get a merit scholarship of some sort from Smith…that’d really tip the scale in its favor.

Congrats to everyone who got in! Hopefully I’ll see you around campus during the fall! :)

I got in Monday, Smith is on my short list that I will be visiting in April assuming the financial aid works out!

Will financial aid come out the same time as their RD?
