Class of 2018 ( From Nepal )

How are people from Nepal so smart…

Are you indirectly trying to insult NEPAL???

I doubt it, wait for clarification before getting pis-s-ed bro.

@iSabrina
This isn’t really a representative sample of Nepal.

Okay … guys … I have a small problem … I got a very poor grade in GP.But I didn’t retake but I have excellent grades in PCM (A*s and As). I am pretty sure I will get SAT score of 2200+.

Will my GP effect?

Depends on how poor you did and where you plan to apply. A C is not all that bad. Probably not going to get into a top school though…

Although I don’t understand how someone who couldn’t even get a C on GP get a 2200+ on the SAT? Is this just a goal or have you actually been making real progress towards achieving it? Not trying to be condescending or anything, just curious. But a 2200 (700+ in CR and Writing) could potentially offset a bad GP grade at many schools because GP is not all that rigorous and is considered a ‘soft’ subject…

I gave my GP in first year … .ended up with “D” as I didn’t practice well but SAT I prepared it for more than 2 years and yes that’s my goal and I am quite sure I will get it. I have taken a lot of test including tests at USEF and I always achieved 2200+

I wasn’t insulting Nepal. I just feel bad when comparing myself to other Nepalis.

Like sarbaraj said, this is not the best sample space. Also, this is the internet. Don’t believe everything you see here.

plus, having good scores does not mean you’re smart. Could be that you’re just a good test taker, but can’t really think on your own.

Are the letters of recommendation, transcripts and supplement documents to be send by mail or online?
How is this process done if we use commonapp?
Thanks in advance :)

I am too looking for that answer…

If your college is a member of common app then you can send in the teacher recommendations and supplements from there. As for the transcript, you have to use either of email or air mail as preferred by your college or guidance counselor.

What does it count, getting A in GP ? Is it really going to help in any way further or just addition to to my A’s hopefully if i can achieve in other subjects too ?

Sixstringsrocker hit the nail on the head… I am going in for the class of 2017. I had 2190 SAT, but I am not anywhere close to smart… Best explanation is I got lucky on the test date… or sth supernatural…

yes right here, i m ready to start the voyage!!!

Hello. Guys, I’m finding it very difficult to tackle the reading portion of SAT. Can anyone help me out?

I am also planning to give my SAT’s this year.

There is no any alternative to practice. The more you practice, the more you move towards the perfect score.I will say practice all the sets from Official SAT guide, princeton’s review,Mcgraw Hills, Barrons’, 2400 club. In addition to this Direct Hits I and II ,Wordpower are good books.
SparkNotes: Today’s Most Popular Study Guides is the good site where you can get novels with SAT words, and flash cards for these words and other helpful techniques.

If you need soft copy of any of the mentioned books you can ask me.

Thank You very much.
Yes, practice is the only way out. But is there any sort of technique one can use?
I would warmly accept those soft copies.
