wow… REALLY wasn’t expecting to be flat out rejected… I honestly don’t know what went wrong… Totally bummed

Accepted into CAS honors program! So happy and excited. SAT 2300/ UW GPA 4.0 from southern MA.

Haha yep I’m the exact opposite @katwoman89. Got accepted to BC and deferred to Georgetown

Ok so I got on my portal today and it had changed to include the F and P tabs but no word in the mail. I was just wondering if anyone from the Southeastern part of the U.S. (particularly North and South Carolina) had heard anything. I know everyone keeps saying that the portal change means you got in but you never know…

Accepted

California. 4 years water polo 3 years swim. 3.9 weighted GPA. 34 ACT. Dad went there so this may not be a great frame of reference but I hope it helps!

Accepted. Packet arrived late today

And portal change.

ACT =30
GPA=4.2

Decision: Accepted

W GPA: 4.14
8 APs

Awards: Congressional Gold Medalist, AP Scholar with Honor, Commended Scholar, Spanish National Honor Society, etc.

Class Rank: None but I would put myself as top 30% out of 80 students.

EC: Shit load of community service, captain of tennis team, nationally ranked for tennis, math club, private tutor.

For those who got accepted, congratulations! For those of you got deferred or rejected, don’t feel like this is the end of the world. I’ve literally been rejected to all my other early action schools. Its the individual schools’ mistake for not accepting bright students like yourselves. Keep your head up high. When I was in the lowest of the spirits hearing my rejection from my dream college, I had people telling me these kinds of things and they helped. Hopefully I help some of you too. Good Luck to you all in the future.

Accepted CSOM early
SAT: 2220
No subject tests
gpa/rank: school doesn’t rank but 3.9 unweighted GPA
ECs: Competitive pianist, varsity basketball, lots of community service
essays: decent. hard to judge my own.
recs: didn’t read

How did California letters get there before Florida? Hoping what everyone is saying about the portal change is accurate. The letter can’t arrive fast enough to confirm it one way or another.

BC offered interviews to a select few at my school. But it wasn’t too many

@Screenager‌ - I haven’t seen anything. Makes me kinda nervous

Accepted to CSOM!!
GPA: 3.91 UW (my school does not weight)
SAT: 770 CW, 620 M (ouch), 710 W
Subject tests: did not send bc they were optional and mine aren’t particularly great
AP Scores: music theory (5), APUSH (5), French (5), chemistry (4)
Senior year course load: 3 APs (bio, comp gov, and calc AB), 1 honors (business French- the only option after taking AP), and regular English semester courses (my school does not offer AP english)
3 season varsity athlete for all 4 years: XC (fall), diving (winter), and track (spring), captain of all 3 teams sr year
Lots of fine arts: soprano 1 in choir and madrigals, piano for 13 years
Made All-region choir all 4 years of HS and All-state choir in 11th & 12th grade
Went to Interlochen for 4 years
Average amount of commserv but I don’t have that much time with fine arts and sports
Had a summer job every summer
Common app essay: I’d say it was good (but I don’t want to evaluate my own writing), I wrote about how I felt content hanging out with my coworkers in the kitchen of the barbecue restaurant I worked at this summer, but I emphasized how unexpected this happiness was since all of my coworkers were male and I’ve gone to the same all-girls school my entire life
BC supplement: again, I’d say it was good, I chose the first one and wrote about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and how it concerned me because I saw how it directly affected people when I was in Jordan this summer and talked to people on both sides of the conflict

Congrats to all of those accepted - I hope I’ll get to meet some of you in February at the accepted EA students weekend! Honestly I thought I was going to get deferred since my math SAT is so low and CSOM is so competative, but this just goes to show you test scores aren’t everything. I really think that it was my EC’s that stood out to the admissions committee because I’ve stuck with everything I’m interested in for all 4 years of high school/demonstrated passion in what I do, especially with sports and music, which I absolutely LOVE!!!

Also for those of you who haven’t gotten your letters yet, my portal changed last night at midnight EST to give me the option to enroll or to decline/defer my admission, and this morning the “f” and “p” tabs popped up. I received my letter this afternoon.

Accepted to the College of Arts & Sciences Honors! I also got my invite for the Presidential Scholars Program!! Anyone know approximately how many PSP finalists there are? I know they only choose ~15 to be in the program.
I’m from Mississippi, with an ACT of 34 and an UW GPA of 3.89. I took 10 APs (didn’t submit any scores, though) and have lots of ECs. I really just made a point to highlight my passions and (as cheesy as it sounds) be true to myself through the process. My common app essay was about one of my most important ECs, a post-disaster youth empowerment program that I’m a part of and how my leadership in it may send me to Japan this spring with the United Nations. My BC supplement essay (and also my favorite essay I’ve written thus far) was about Banksy’s Flower Thrower graffiti piece, its symbolism for the Israeli Intifada, and how it has impacted the way I view art and the world.
Good luck to all other BC applicants! I’m so excited to visit campus soon-- go eagles!!!

Does anyone know why I could have gotten deferred? I’m actually really sad :frowning:

GPA- 3.93 unweighted, 4.6 weighted. 5 completed AP’s (currently taking 4, so 9 total). Earned a 5 on all tests
ACT- 35 first shot
SAT subjects- 3 tests, scores ranging from 750-800. all taken once.
meaningful ec’s with leadership positions, ample summer research experience and internships
great recs and essays

@th15isityo‌ simply bad luck…

@skz117‌ My daughter has the option to enroll, but no letter yet. Better come today! We are near Raleigh, NC.

EA Accepted Class of 2019 !!!

Business School

CA resident
4.37/3.98 GPA very competitive HS
31 ACT with a 12 on writing
Essays: very great. Wrote about my passion of photography.
ECs: Very good. Editor on the school newspaper which is one of the best in the country. President of the Spirt team. 4 years on the Lacrosse team. Very great internship with a renown professor at Claremont Mckenna. Summer Job 3 years in a row. 3 years participant in CSF program. around 150 hours of community service over high school. Talked about my work with a photography website where I sell my photos.

Photography was a major theme and a hook in my application.

6 APs/ 8 honors: 5s and 4s on APs so far

Recs: very good. both from teachers that loved me and I did extremely well in their classes.

@th15isityo‌ I am shocked with those stats that you were deferred. From what I can see about who they are accepting maybe it had something to do with ECs and leadership. I would say you have an excellent chance for RD. Maybe work on something to add to your app in the EC/leadership category and update them? Good luck you are amazingly bright and are destined for success, I’m sure.

@DevlinHall208‌ No letter yet (1 hr North of NYC). Everyone in my son’s school received their letters yesterday. Went to PO and they don’t have anything, so perhaps it’s lost in the mail. The portal gives him the option to pay enrollment deposit. The issue is that if he’s not admitted EA to BC, he has to send in RD applications by 1/1 and he’s scrambling to get Letters of Rec today before school closes at 1. Any advice?
