Class of 2019 Boston College Early Action

Dear BC
Your carrier pigeons have not made it to Seattle yet…went to the PO this morning, nothing there :((
No portal change, but don’t want to believe that it’s defer/deny with this record:

SAT: 2360
SAT-II: Math-2-800; Chem-800; USH-760; Bio-740
10 APs: (4,5,5,5,5); 5 more in senior year
GPA: 3.95
Tons of ECs: leadership position and state level success in - Deca & debate, 4 year cross-country (captain)
Good Essays & rec
Private school
Accepts @ Notre Dame and Michigan…but want to be in Boston

Please tweet this and put this to rest: “Portal change - you are in; no change - out for now”…Don’t behave like a hit and run driver and mail the letters and close up your office and leave for holidays.

@masterchef, obviously I’m not Devlin Hall, but I’m not sure why your son would need additional recs for RD schools. Couldn’t he use the ones he used for BC? In any event, if you have a portal change I’m 99% sure he was accepted. Additionally, I think most schools will consider an application timely even if the rec letters come a little later.

@masterchef‌- if the portal gives you the option to pay then you have been admitted! Go ahead and click on the P tab and you will be able to pay the enrollment deposit. You would not have a P tab and an option to pay if you were rejected or deferred.

@jchan and @masterchef I know the office is closed but perhaps your admissions reps are checking their emails for exact situations like these…good luck. I hope you both get closure soon. Jchan those are such amazing stats, no matter where you end up you will be a huge success!

Accepted to CAS Honors program. Today is a cool day.

@suzy100 his teacher is old school - hand writes all letters. he needed to get envelopes, stamps etc.
@collegemomjam - he emailed his admissions rep who told him all letters were mailed on the 19th and that he should call office on 29th if he hasn’t received letter.
@dreambig101 and suzy100 - we’ve been on the 1% side of things when the odds are 99%, so until we see the letter, he won’t believe it. lol

we received Xmas cards from that same general area that were mailed on 12/19, so either the letter got mistakenly routed to another state, got chewed up by the machine, or delivered to another local address. So, we wait…

@masterchef I don’t blame you for wanting to see the actual letter, but I do think he is in because no one who had a portal change did NOT get in. Not sure about the other way around though (if you did not get the change if you still got accepted). Good luck and let us know what happens.

I got the change on the portal but I am still waiting for the letter in the mail to confirm my acceptance. Regardless, here are my stats.

Recommendations (rating 1-10, details): 9? Both of my teachers are really kind and empathetic. I worked hard in both classes and made a personal connection with both of them!

** I WILL COMMENT AS SOON AS I GET THE LETTER IN THE MAIL!

We are in the same boat in Seattle. Nothing in the mail today and no portal change. So frustrating!

Daughter had the portal change yesterday morning and I just pulled the big envelope from the mailbox here in NC. Unfortunately, she had already left for work until late tonight and knows none of this yet!

My son’s portal has changed. So, we think he is in. But still no letter. Others from his school have received their letters. We are about an hour north of NYC. Can anyone who got into the Honors Program say if it is indicated in anyway on the portal? Or is it just in the letter?
Thanks

@collegedad425 i did not see anything about the honors program on the portal. along with the acceptance letter, there was another letter in the package that said i had been admitted to the honors program for CAS. best of luck!

Portal changed a couple nights ago, acceptance letter to CSOM arrived today. Very, VERY excited to see what the future holds.

Boston college never sent me my portal information even after giving them a call. Also I live in California and have no received anything from Boston yet. I know they have the correct email because they sent me my application confirmation letter to me. :/

Deferred in FL.
Portal never changed.
