**Class of 2019 Early Admissions Thread**

Does submitting an application early, say in August instead of October, positively effect your chances?

@Eniam666‌ Can you even submit an application in as early as August?!

@Hoolala Yes! There are some schools accepting applications now I believe.

I’m either going to apply SCEA to UChicago or Stanford and then EA to Chapel Hill and public universities.

Columbia ED

@tola2015 just so you know UChicago Early Action isn’t single choice so you could still apply to other schools early if you did EA!

Yale SCEA

@gauravk306‌ but if I apply to Stanford SCEA then I can’t apply to UChicago EA because isn’t the rule you can’t apply early to any other private universities.

You certainly can do your interviews before submitting (in fact most only do interviews up until sometime early winter), but you don’t necessarily have to in the case of EA.

could i apply to Cornell ED and Princeton SCEA at same time?

Applying EA to UMass Amherst, Hofstra, Rider, and Monmouth. I’m also applying to Quinnipiac under Rolling Admission.

I’m starting the second draft of my Common App essay today.

EDing to either Middlebury or Duke. Most likely Duke. EAing to Fordham, Temple, Tulane, and UMiami. I’ve already applied rolling to University of Alabama.

I’ve written two extra curricular essays (150 words and 250 words) and now I’m working on drafting my Common App.

@dancingwriter You’ve probably already researched this, but just a heads up that you’ll want to check Middlebury or Duke’s website about whether or not they allow you to ED to their school AND EA to other schools. I believe most schools don’t allow you to apply both early decision and early action.

PS I’m probably going to do Midd ED :)

Applying ED to UPenn
A bit nervous though

@encord what is your intended major?

@Eniam666‌ I’m applying to Wharton. Hopefully to major in Finance.
Are you also applying to Penn?

@Encord I was planning on applying to Wharton but opted out because there is such high standards. Between the interview, essays, and a 4 point something percent acceptance rate, I decided my stats were not solid enough to spend the time and effort. What other schools are you looking at? I would like to major in accounting and minor in international business, so I’m looking at Boston College, Georgetown, Wake Forest, Chapel Hill, and UT Austin.

@Eniam666‌ Yeah I heard of the crazy acceptance rate but I decided to give it a shot anyway. I’m also looking at Georgetown and some other schools which don’t have an undergraduate business program like Dartmouth, Williams, Duke and possibly Swarthmore.

@encord Well good luck! If you get into Wharton that is huge! Same with all the other schools.

@Eniam666‌ Lol…if I get in I think I’ll cry. But I’m trying to not get too attached to it so that a possible rejection won’t feel so bad.
Yeah good luck with your schools too!! I’m sure we’ll both do fine in the end.
