**Class of 2019 Early Admissions Thread**

I sent my applications on nov 1 but just noticed five editing mistakes across my applications. Should I worry? Because I AM worrying!

@user295640756‌ It depends. Admissions officers are used to seeing mistakes and something like your school size isn’t going to matter, as it will be on the one sheet your school sends anyway. What specifically are you concerned about?

My daughter has applied to the following schools ED and has not heard anything back. She is starting to worry because classmates are hearing back (albeit from different schools). Anyone hear back from any of the following schools? Specifically the nursing programs…

Umass Amherst
Fairfield University
University of Delaware
Villanova
University of New Hampshire
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
University of Vermont
University of Maine

@bluedoggy4 Often nursing school admissions are batch processed, even at colleges with rolling admissions for other majors. Because nursing school admission is usually more competitive (sometimes much more competitive) than admission to some other majors, these schools wait until a certain date, then review all the nursing school applications received by that date. I’d suggest that you contact each school for specific dates if this information isn’t on the websites.

@kidzncatz Thank you… I did not realize that

@bluedoggy4 You might want to visit the Nursing Major forum, if you haven’t already done so.

UVA
Rutgers (Accepted)
Alabama (Accepted)

Wanted to do Stanford REA, but got last minute feedback that one of my essays would “kill my app” so I decided to wait.

@bluedoggy4 I’m international and just got admitted into UMass last week. I’ve been told that American students have to wait a month or so longer…

Applied ED to Hopkins, EA to UMD, Northeastern, and SUNY Binghamton. So nervous!

UChicago and Caltech EA, Dartmouth ED, UMichigan EA

UIowa (Rolling-Admitted), MIT-EA, UMich-EA, UVA-EA, Dartmouth ED

I applied to Vanderbilt ED1 back in August. I had fallen in love with Vanderbilt after touring it over spring break, and knew that it was my dream school. I am wanting to take a pre-business track (applied to Peabody), and the HOD major sounded like a great major that would prepare me for business leadership, while also giving me a broad liberal arts background.

Recently, however, I have really been starting to consider the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. I have been accepted to UT (still waiting to hear from Business Honors), and feel like UT may have more to offer in terms of a pre-business track. UT seems to have more internship opportunities, students in McCombs are receiving post-graduation job offers during their sophomore and junior years, and Austin is such a booming city.

I am seriously beginning to think that I am leaning toward McCombs at UT, and am considering switching my Vanderbilt app from ED1 to RD. This would allow me to keep my options open should Vanderbilt accept me.

Does anyone think that switching my app from ED1 to RD would just get my Vanderbilt app thrown out of the pool and automatically rejected? Thoughts, comments, advice?

It wouldn’t

I applied for REA Stanford and have been checking up on my admission status. It says:

Credentials Processed:

And there’s nothing under the Not Yet Processed category, so I’m assuming it’s complete. But I also submitted one Other Recommendation, and it isn’t displayed here. Is that just because it’s not considered a necessary component, or is it because they didn’t receive it?

@scaredoflife nobody but the Stanford Admissions knows for certain but my guess would be there isn’t a field for the 3rd recommendation since it’s not a mandatory component. Only way to find out is call or email the Admissions to double check if your worried.

We have an ED out at Mount Holyoke, and EA or regular at other schools. Biting my nails knowing that we should be hearing soon. Twins - one daughter has completed all apps, the other still has two to go, but only one of them was ready to commit to ED - and we only did that after serious talks with her guidance counselor. I think I’m more scared of the financials than the acceptances.

EA/Rolling to UMass Amherst, Northeastern, Bentley, Fordham, UNC-Wilmington, Quinnipiac, Hofstra, SUNY-Binghamton, Stetson (accepted), Clark, and Rider (accepted). Now waiting for nine more decisions in the next one and a half months! Fingers crossed!!! :-SS

Applying EA to Drexel, Northeastern, Eugene Lang College, and Pace. I start hearing back next week, I’m so anxious!

Early Decision: Davidson College
Early Action: Georgia Tech, Sewanee, Dickinson, Georgia State University, and DePauw University
Rolling: Gustavus Adolphus College

EA: Drexel, Wooster, UMD, Emerson, and UVM (accepted)

DD should hear back from all except UMD by the end of the year. FX!
