Class of 2020 RD

@gonewiththeair yea it’s not in there. Maybe there’s a delay and i will get it tomorrow or something. Cause i was able to create an account and everything. Just worried about receiving the info. If I don’t get it tomorrow i will just shoot them an email.

I was able to create the account, but not log into it. Seems weird…

@Apples1789302 hm, weird. It may show up eventually. There was definitely a delay between when people here said they got an email and from when I got an email.

Unfortunately, you will not know if you were deferred to Spring Semester until you get your admission letter. @eric2020

I was unable to create a new student account so does this suggest that I’ve been rejected? What are the chances that I’ve actually been accepted?

@nmackpaddywhack when I click on the financial aid tab I do not see a place where I can see my award, however I do have links to where I can accept or decline my financial aid award. Does this mean anything?

Now this is interesting. My D noticed that her dad’s email was not updated under "“authorize access to my data”. She clicked “update data” and was able to add his email address (my name and email address was already listed). That was a good feeling!!

@Josie1, once you created the account, did you see the screen that told you your account name and AU gmail account name? If so, make sure you’re following instructions exactly to log in. i was using the wrong data (regular gmail account or original AU ID # or something, I don’t remember now which) but once I really entered what I was supposed to, it worked. Good luck.

For those who were able to create an account, are you able to see the tab with >Financial Aid: Loan Adjustment Request - detailed breakdown for 2016-2017 loan amounts?

I see that (2016-2017) is broken down into 2016F (I assume Fall) and 2017S (assume Summer) and I am able to see work study $ amounts, Federal Direct Subsidized Loan 2016-2017 $amount, and Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan 2016-2017 $amount. For each of the other previous years, (2014-2015) and (2015-2016), it says “There is no Financial Aid information for the selected year.”

Keeping fingers crossed.

I see my AU Grant and Loans too under Financial Aid: Loan Adjustment request.

I can see it!!! @ognopgod do you know what it means?

If you see information there then you are definitely accepted- congratulations!

@myjanda for fall semester officially?!

Not sure but the fact that 2016F and 2017S is listed I think that perhaps my D is not a Spring admit (good).

Also the fact that the other years loan amounts are not available but only 2016-2017 means that something must have changed!

We hope!

@ognopgod I see 2016F and 2017S for grants, scholarships and loans as well so hopefully that is good news!!

Did you guys get a large grant? I demonstrated a lot of need but I barely got anything.

Well, nothing is official until you get the AU letter but I’m going through this for the second time- first D14 who is a very happy AU sophomore, and now with D16, so I’ve been on this thread a lot and so I can say confidently that those who see financial aid info on the AU portal have been accepted… As a few other people have stated, however, there always seem to be a few that can’t log in and yet end up getting accepted so for those not able to log in, don’t lose hope!

@wilddaffodils I don’t believe AU guarantees to meet full need so it’s entirely possible that you’ve been gapped.

With that being said, those numbers may not be concrete so be careful about reading too much into them.

Ahhh!!! I just checked and I can see it!!!

I agree with @gonewiththeair about FA. From what I have witnessed, and AU may not be unusual in this regard- I have nothing to compare it with- they have been known to decrease the amount of FA in subsequent years and my daughter knew more than a few kids who had to transfer out after freshman year. So make sure you aren’t stretching yourself too thin already the first year. And remember that if your need is based on another kid in college, that money definitely could get reduced later on when your family situation changes.
Just hate to see happy kids have to transfer out because of money.
