Class of 2020 RD

@egaliteoulamort & @TX2016 Ah, never mind, I found it.

@efinand Login. At the top of the page, click the “Academics” tab. Under “Personalized links” you should see Contact Information-Current Students :slight_smile:

@efinand ah never mind then :slight_smile:

I think I remember reading from last years thread that some people that were able to make an account were either wait listed or spring semester admits. And some people who could not make a portal were accepted too. So I would not assume that you are accepted/rejected until you get the decision in the mail!

Recently they emailed saying “We will notify you the week of March 7 as to our expected Regular Decision mailing date.” and now they said “We will begin mailing all of our admissions decision letters for domestic applicants starting the week of March 21.”

UGHHH

Hey Everyone, so I am a rising sophomore of the class of 2019. I remember going through this whole process and all of the anxiety & stress that comes along with it. Let me know if I can answer any questions and/or ease any fears. AMA :smiley:

PS: There is a loophole for AU in seeing if you were accepted or not. If you can create an account, go to the finances tab, then click on financial aid award. Select the year. If there is a posted financial aid award, you have been accepted. Not everyone who can create an account has been accepted for 2020, some are deferred to spring. Just being able to create the account does not mean much. Once the fin aid is posted, you can be assured.

@nmackpaddywhack when did you check if there is a financial aid award? I just check and it said financial aid not available.

Yes me too I have made an account and all that but when I click in Financial Aid Award Letter it says “Award Letter is not available on-line to you at this time.” Idk what to think!

I was able to make an account, but under my personalized links under academics the last link is waitlisted sections. Does everyone have this or is it a sign I’ve been waitlisted?

@laneline It’s definitely a long way off, but to be fair they didn’t promise decisions the week of the 7, they just promised to tell us the date of decisions which they are doing!
I unfortunately can’t attend the webinar! Is anyone planning on doing it?

To those who know about this loophole, has there ever been an occurence where someone was able to log in but then got admitted? If the answers no that would put me a little at ease

Sorry I meant not admitted, rejected

@rmdirr

Waitlisted sections refers to classes that you registered for, but are currently on a waitlist for. It does not mean you have been waitlisted (:

@wilddaffodils

Last year, I was able to see my financial aid award on the 17th or 18th, a day before my birthday. When did AU say they would be releasing you all’s decisions? Your best bet is to keep checking everyday. Noting that the University offices “close” around 5 PM, so no real use in checking after then. Letters, of course, arrive first to those closest to DC e.g. New York, New Jersey, Maryland…

@Miniwendy

To my knowledge, no. Those who were able to log in were accepted. However, there is a caveat. Some were able to log in, but their admission was deferred until Spring Semester. AU will offer them to join [pay for] their Washington Semester Program or Abroad Greece Semester Program. Of course, everything with a grain of salt. Breathe easy when you can see your fin aid award or a scholarship, or you have your acceptance letter in hand.

Wait how do we know if we were deferred to the Spring semester???

@eric2020 American will tell you if you have been deferred in your admissions decision letter.

Should I be worried I wasn’t accepted even if I can access my account and see my address under current students?

i have yet to receive an email informing what date the decisions will be made. A bit odd I guess. Has anyone else not gotten the email yet?

@Apples1789302 have you checked your spam folder? Loads of people have had AU emails go to spam xx
