Class of 2020 RD

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows if AU waives TOEFL scores depending on SAT scores and if they do what score would i need?

Quick question-- anyone doing the webinar tomorrow? If so, have you done one before? How long do they usually last? I’m working until 9 so I probably won’t be home until 9:30, and I don’t want to sign up if it’ll be over by the time I get home.

@efinand ahh, gotcha. sorry, i thought that it was the same as last year!

D’s portal only shows loans for 2016-17. Where are you guys seeing grants?

It said “AU Grant” in the same place it has loans and merit scholarships for me @“Queen’s Mom”

Just spoke with AU Admissions. They said that to please not take creating a account as a sign of admissions, or if you were not able to create an account as a sign that you didn’t get in. She said they have this problem every year, and their IT department is working on it. She said you might be able to see information, and very well NOT be accepted. Also, there are many who cannot see any information who WILL be accepted. She said she hopes that applicants are not withdrawing their applcations from other schools, only to find out that they did not get in. She said to please wait for official letter being mailed 3/21.

OK…maybe D got nothing. We will see.

@“Queen’s Mom” Same for me

I think they may still be populating the info in stages.

@mpi2020 I’m not surprised that they said that. I would be shocked if the people who can see their loan and grants they are not accepted. It doesn’t make since that AU would take the time to award financial aid to candidates who will not be accepted. However, I think it’s very possible that students who are unable to access the portal still have a chance of getting in.

@Apples1789302 I agree. I think if you can see financial info, it would make sense that you have been accepted. She just did say that in the past people have assumed they got in based on being able to see info, and they actually got a letter of denial. I guess we will all know soon enough. Goog luck everyone!

ugh now because people called I can’t get into my portal; why would someone call admissions about this?

can anyone else not access their portal now? I used to be able to and now it says only current students can access.

@lana22 i’m still able to get into mine

@Lana22 I agree. So much for college “confidential”.

@Lana22 I completely agree- really not sure why anyone would call admissions about this!

I’m not sure why those of us who are seeing merit wouldn’t receive an acceptance, though. However, the merit aid money may not be set in stone so I’m trying not to read too much into the amount offered.

I can’t make an account

I was able to fix it. A little disappointed about whoever called. Obviously we aren’t supposed to find out before they sent the letters in the mail.

Also, where can I see the merit money?

@Lana22 Finances>financial aid>Financial aid: loan adjustment request
