Did everyone get the email asking if we had already committed to another college?
@ccc827 I got the email last night
Everyone should have got it, the same email went out last year. American wants to improve their yield, and due to the fact that a lot of people who apply use AU as a safety and don’t intend on enrolling, they send out this email so they don’t accept a ton of people who are already enrolled somewhere else.
Yes.
Yes, D received the email. Maybe a good thing
@Elevey1 Do you know if notification is by email or mail?
@HappyFace2018 AU sends out all acceptances via snail mail, not emails or portal updates.
@anothermuggle Thanks so much.
Has anyone gotten a response for the second round of the global scholars program? Thx
Kind of on the above note, has anyone heard anything back about the honors program?
@papaannaxoxo and @gonewiththeair I’m assuming no mail yesterday means tomorrow or Thursday.
@HappyFace2018 Special Program notifications are supposed to come out soon? I thought AU was notifying students in April?
@ellesea This is information on the AU Global Website:
“The selection process for the program will consist of two rounds. The first round of essays will be due on December 15, 2015. Applicants selected for Round 2 will be notified by February 15, 2016. If you are not selected for Round 2, you will still be considered for admission to American University”.

@HappyFace2018 Ooh, okay. I only applied to the Honors Program and I was thinking they all notified students at the same time. Thanks!
@anothermuggle , are you sure that AU won’t be providing acceptances on their portal? They did two years ago (2014) tho don’t know about last year.
this is not a question about the special programs, but that email we got that said decisions will be released the week of march 7, will it be through the mail of our portals?
I think the email said that the date for decisions would be released on March 7.
“We will notify you the week of March 7 as to our expected Regular Decision mailing date.”
ugh completely read it wrong! thanks! @txstella
I read it wrong the first time, too!
@myjanda I’m pretty sure when I was looking through the AUAdmissions twitter feed from last year that decisions only came out through mail. Pretty sure, but not 100%
