This really drives me crazy…I got deferred by Villanova today and hoped to hear some good news from AU. Unfortunately, I still got nothing. Why is taking so long to deliver the mail from DC to NOVA???
I live in Maryland 20 minutes from Campus and received my admitted students package. The financial aid they gave me was a disgrace. Last night I was admitted to my top choice school in California and I will not be attending American. Good luck to the rest of you!

More than likely, the day you receive your mail has more to do with how far you live from the mail processing plant that handles your address rather than how far you live from campus. Good luck to all of you. The news is coming sooner rather than later.
Congrats to everyone so far! I have not received my decision letter yet! However, I just made a portal which I was unable to create previously. My financial aid letter showed no AU aid so hopefully this will be updated? For now I’m going to try and be patient for the official decision letter.
@helenanca that’s how I’m feeling about AU’s financial aid. I was offered a spot in PPL, but I got no merit aid and a disgraceful amount of financial aid. There’s no possible way my parents can pay $50k a year while also taking care of three other kids… I feel like they were quite conservative with their aid this year. I’m disappointed to say the least.
If I could previously make a portal and I saw my financial aid letter prior to them shutting it down but now I cannot log onto my portal, could this mean that I have not been accepted?

I was able to log into the portal before but now I am blocked?!! Anyone else have this problem, any thoughts what it means??

@curlykat https://myau.american.edu , if you have not made an account previously you need you AU ID, name, last 4 numbers of your social, and birthday/last four digits of home phone to sign up
No acceptance letter yet here in Massachusetts but my son was able to open an account on the student portal and view a financial aid offer. We assume that’s a “yes”. If there is a merit award, is that treated separately? Thanks for your help.

I got in!! I live on Long Island with a 3.7 gpa took a few aps and college courses and applied test optional. Good luck to everyone else!!
