By the way, I am still not able to log into the portal (after I created one a few weeks ago) but I was accepted. The portal seemed to work in my case.
My daughter got her acceptance package today with Frederick Douglas scholarship and is in the AU Scholars program. She had a 2210 SAT and pretty close to a 4.0 with lots of AP’s. We are in Virginia.
so i wasn’t able to make a portal 3 hours ago and it finally let me make one! but it doesn’t show any financial aid or any message of acceptance. does this mean anything or no?
@micky1120 what state do you live in and have you received a packet in the mail yet? I’m not sure what it means…hm

Received my admission package in SoCal!!! The package was sent on the 21st. Got admitted for Law and Society with a 20k financial aid package, but looks like I won’t be attending if they don’t give me more financial aid. I applied with a 3.76 cumulative GPA and 1790 SAT.
Mail is slow here. Didnt get anything from the mail man today not even a bill. But what account or you guys talking about. I can access my prospective student portal? Is this the one you guys are referring to?
Accepted today with a 3.82W and a 33 ACT, also got the 13k Dean’s scholarship. Hopefully I can get more financial aid.
From MN - I received my acceptance packet in the mail today. I applied for the Honors Scholarship, but ended up with a $14,000 Dean’s Scholarship. I’m not eligible for any other financial aid, so the net price is still over $47,000! Yikes!!
I would have loved to do the Honors Program at American, but without that program and the added money to help justify the cost, I have to pass on American and look at better value offers I have received from other colleges. To Bad! 
Good luck to the rest of you. At least I can free up one place for the wait list people.

@anothermuggle I think you were the person who first pointed out the portal thing. Is there anywhere on the portal where I can actually find out whether I was admitted?
If you’re able to get on the portal now, that most likely indicates you’ve been accepted. If you go to finances and look at one of the tabs (I think it’s something about loans) and it says your financial award, I’d say that pretty much guarantees it. However, the portal is not official, so there’s no way to officially know you’ve been admitted until the letter is in your hand. But like I said, being able to make an account is a pretty solid indicator.

A: Hello! Decisions were mailed out beginning Monday and we mailed the last of them out yesterday. So there might be some lag depending on when your letter was mailed out. Hang in there, it’s coming soon.
