Class of 2021 (Discussing application season, sharing, venting)

BAL to all folks auditioning this weekend!

Pace today (plus an audition for an X-Men pilot!) and USC tomorrow!

@momof3nerdz congrats! Wonderful and exciting for you alll.

@marg928 BAL to your D this weekend.

Awe, exciting times for everyone. Congrats for acceptances and break a leg for auditions!! @marg928 X-men pilot - wow!

Roosevelt today for my S and UNCSA and NYU tomorrow

Not sure what would happen with all this college stuff if she were to actually book the pilot LOL…it’s actually pretty scary. We don’t want to say NO though so we keep going to the auditions her agent sends her on and secretly hope she doesn’t get it!

if she books the pilot, she will have a nice chunk of change for college later…if she even needs college. We know a kid who deferred for a year because of professional commitments, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to want to back burner his career for college any times soon. Good luck with all of it, and may the best opportunity win.

Went to CCPA today. Had no idea! beautiful! The views were amazing the kids were great, and the program seemed solid. Any feedback on the new MT director? Haven’t heard that much about this program.

Don’t forget to post your acceptances to the list!

Here is a link for straight acting program acceptances that was started. (Vs one on the MT page). Maybe the moderator can pin it to the top of the drama page.

We just got back from Chicago 15 hours ago and are now headed to Juilliard audition. It’s all moving very quickly. I’m grateful my D and I organized all the paperwork, and clothing weeks ago…because that’s when we had our brains working. I’m just exhausted…really…thrilled, but exhausted.

@bfahopeful I totally missed that!

Yikes that list in the Theater forum is a mess! @bfahopeful

@marg928 we had a pretty good one or two last year. Maybe you can copy one of those or create a better format.

I didn’t really look at it. Just saw it was started.

Auditioned at DePaul yesterday - No callback.
UCLA today went really well! I loved the teachers and think my actual audition went pretty well.

UNCSA tomorrow and then CalArts on Wednesday! (then moving to California… it’s a busy week)
Then the dreadful wait.

@bfahopeful Format is fine but no one followed the directions unfortunately. Maybe @Jkellynh17 can fix it

My D auditioned for USC today. I wasn’t able to go with her but I asked her to tape the info session for me. After the info session there were monologues and then once everyone went they moved on to interviews. The BA (which most applicants select as their second choice major) is non-audition but requires an interview so those are now complete. I’m wondering if they were perhaps scholarship interviews as well. The interviewers were admissions officers from SDA. Interesting info session…they explained how the major is changing for the incoming fall class. They also explained the differences between the BFA and the BA.

Can anyone provide me with any insight on AADA?

@CMB625 My D did not apply to any of the two year conservatories but throughout this past year of researching I got the feeling it’s a very good program…better than AMDA.

@marg928 how is the major changing at USC?
