Hi
My son just got accepted. My understanding is dorms are first come first served. What dorms do folks recommend for a freshman – he’s lived away at boarding school so is used to the routine, mainly interested in social and facilities.
thanks in advance
The Quad is great in terms of location (center of campus), the Village is great in terms of facilities (more like apartment living/newer), and South Donahue is in the center of the athletics side of campus (along with being the nicest/most expensive dorms on campus). If he’s used to boarding school living, then he could probably handle the Hill without difficulty, though it’s the least convenient. Avoid Cambridge at all costs as it’s a sorry excuse for housing.
I’d definitely recommend putting the Quad at the top of his list if he wants to be in the center of things!
In terms of facilities, from best to worst, it’s South Donahue, The Village, The Quad, The Hill, and Cambridge.
