@carachel2 in state yes, chancellors no. I’m grateful to have gotten anything at all though!
@engineur — yes! I think that’s how we all feel!! Congrats to you… I know you were super pumped to get that yellow envelope on the mail!!
Still waiting here in Illinois…
Well, you’re not alone in IL @perch1024.
Quick questions - do the scholarship letters indicate the amount of aid for just freshman year, or a total amount for all 4 years? And are scholarship letters for need-based aid different (or come out at different date) than merit-based aid letters? Thanks.
@hailtopitt1787 has posted before that the first financial aid award letters will come out in February, so if you haven’t filed FAFSA yet, you should do so now.
The merit award letter should state the scholarship amount and for how many years (semesters) you can receive it. There is a GPA requirement of 3.0 to keep it. And I think you have to be full time (12 credits or more).
@njdad70, Scholarship award letters should include the total award amount as well as the amount disbursed per term. If you have received a scholarship letter and have questions about it, feel free to contact us: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.
Financial aid letters will start going out in February and we recommend that those interested in financial aid file their FAFSA by March 1 at the latest.
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
My D heard from Pitt today. $10,000/year and Chancellor’s invite.
35 ACT, 1470 SAT, rank 6/250.
My S received $15K with NO Chancellor’s invite. 35 ACT, 4.0/4.68 GPA (from very competitive IB school) with great ECs. Very disappointing!
Received $10,000/year and no Chancellor’s invite
34 ACT, #2 class rank, 4.0 UW, In State, Applied for business
Was hoping for full tuition, but I will definitely take what I can get! I’ve heard of people with higher stats than me getting nothing, so I’m still very happy. 10k is a little more than half tuition for in state, so its a great award. No chancellor’s was disappointing, but I applied for the Stamps/Nordenberg scholarships. I’m not feeling too good about my chances for those now since I didn’t even get an invite for Chancellors, but this is in state students only so it might be a little easier. Hoping for the best now and good luck to everyone else!
@class0f2017 congratulations on your scholarship!
DD got $20Kyr, no chancellor invite. 36 ACT, 3.8UW/ 4.5W GPA, OOS, Pre-medical. She’s ecstatic; we’re grateful
I’m stalking the mailman. C’mon Pitt!! Send a merit letter. Don’t make us wait until February
@Madgie - in-state or OOS?
@vskr123 - in-state or OOS?
