Kind of an intriguing case, though, this one is, because Muhlenberg isn’t on NACAC’s space available list, and so you wouldn’t expect them to be playing such games. It makes me wonder if they came up short not for the whole class, but in a specific area or two (e.g., theater).
Update: The letter my D received says Presidential merit scholarship, so it was not related to the performing arts scholarship day back in January. Still, it is rather late to be putting out award notifications of any kind, unless there had been some on-going communication with the school. The only contact we’ve had since the January visit, was when my D emailed admissions letting them know she was no longer interested - like she did for the other colleges.
Wow that’s pretty ridiculous. I know their process is a little bit different than most whereby they wait until every single application is in and then they handpick their freshman class. Many of the kids do personal interviews with admissions. I remember when my older daughter was accepted if I remember right it was sometime in March. But then again your daughter as a transfer student so maybe that has something to do with it. A friend of mine has a son who is trying to transfer into Loyola Marymount and they will not give him an answer until they receive his current semester grades. Maybe Muhlenberg also waits for that information from all its transfer students before making decisions. It’s very bizarre though.
Oh! A transfer? That changes things. Many (most?) places, financial aid for transfers is quite a different thing entirely.
@stagedoormama I checked with a mutual friend who knows her well and she said that Vicky has no plans to leave BW anytime soon. It’s a great program so it sounds like prospective students have nothing to worry about with that rumor!

We saw a movie last night at an AMC. My MT D and I looked at each other and gasped when we heard/saw that in the ad!
I can see how it might have been tongue in cheek (after all, those may have BFA grads who created and acted in the ad, and I assume they believe/hope they can make a living in the arts), but I’ll definitely be signing the petition. Good for your S for creating it, @theatremom10!

@mabel15 I have a BA in English! And I cracked up when I first heard that line. Perhaps because I’ve had a successful work life… despite getting a degree my father thought would be useless!
The class size is big. I think they are having trouble figuring how many to accept for their yield. But I heard from quite a few that were rejected. D has just been too busy to help with auditions so I’m a little out of the loop.
