Looks like they released CSB results for students who selected Business/BHP as their primary area. Anyone with CS/Turing got into CSB yet?
Iām OOS and applied to CSB with Business first choice in late October. No interviews, no results yet ā does this mean Iām no longer being considered for CSB/BHP?
Also, the Texas CSB website says: āApplicants who list āUnspecified Businessā as their first choice major will be considered for admission to BHP.ā (http://csb.utexas.edu/admissions-faq)
I never formally applied to BHP- only CSB. I assumed that applying for CSB would be an auto-application to BHP. Right? Or did I also need to fill out the BHP app?
If you had indicated the business major as your first choice, it shouldāve automatically given you the BHP application and the CSB application.
I donāt think thereās a separate interview for CSB. The interviews are just for BHPās purposes.
Under application status under the honors section it should tell you if CSB Honors is under review separate from BHP Honors is under review. I know for my daughter they are separately under review, so if you didnāt apply to BHP and only CSB then it sounds like only CSB would be listed and you can check to confirm that.

@HoustonTxDad : Applied to CSB with Computer Science as first Choice. Accepted to Computer Science but still under review for CSB. Did you get accepted or had an interview for CSB?
@ucf2019 we are in the same boat. Accepted to CS but didnāt hear back on Turing or CSB.
@HoustonTxDad Turing does not require interview but not sure about CSB with CS as first choiceā¦
It is also quite possible that they preferred Business first Choice for CSB and put the CS folks on hold.
@ucf2019 @HustonTxDad I applied to CSB with CS as my first choice, so I didnāt directly apply to BHP at all. I got invited for a BHP interview 2 weeks ago, which I think is just for CSB. I got admitted to CS (no word on CSB or turing) last Friday. Iām now just waiting to hear CSB and turing.
@Alec2435 Thank you for the update. I think you are first one we heard of getting BHP interview when applied to Turing and CSB combination. I really hope CSB admission is not affected based on Business Vs CS as the primary majorā¦ but it looks like it may be as many Business first major kids already got into CSB.
@HoustonTxDad @Alec2435 I heard from one of my contacts that is friend has been accepted to both Turing & CSB.
He had applied to CSB with CS as his first choice. @Alec2435 still has a good chance for acceptance to CSB as the interview was conducted recently.
I applied for CSB honors (OOS). I got into McCombs on Dec. 8. I had the BHP phone interview a couple weeks later. I would imagine the decisions come out within the next couple weeks.
@ucf2019 Is there a way you can get additional details like metrics etcā¦ on this student who was accepted to Turing and CSB. Itās quite interesting as this is the only student that was accepted in this combination.
@HoustonTxDad The student is a USACO Platinum contestant along with a bunch of CS projects and Business experience in CS. Well deserved to be accepted by both programs.
