my school doesn't report rank
so I asked my counselor to disclose my rank and he sent the letter about a month ago
but I just got a e-mail back from the SAS honors program that they don't have any record on my high school rank so I have to self-nominate...
how about the scholarship? if they don't have any info on my rank, does it mean that I am not getting any scholarship?
I'm in top 10% and my combined M+R SAT is 1440 SAT (V:660,M:780)
so I would at least get something right?
I reaaaally hope they get my class rank...I am getting worried now

They base scholarships on GPA and SAT scores only. They had used class rank and GPA prior but that changed very recently - I think this year. I got my scholarship letter notification earlier this week, like Wed/Thurs, but I am in state and I'm assuming that you are as well. I only had a 1350 combined and received 20k - 5k over a period of 4 years, which I was expecting after checking the chart on here: "admissions . rutgers . edu / 080101 . asp" (had to space it out otherwise it gets blocked from being read". According to that chart you should receive $7,500 over 4 years - and had you earned 10 more points you would be received $10,000 over 4 years.

And with regard to the honors program, I got a letter dated January 17th notifying me that I was being offered a spot in it. As far as I am aware, my guidance counselor did not give out a class rank - my school doesn't use class rank either due to its highly intelligent and competitive student body.

so I could still get a scholarship without reporting my class rank?
oh, and also I'm out-state student and maybe that's the reason why I still haven't heard anything about it...
about the honors program, did you get into College of arts and science one?
because when I sent an e-mail asking about my status, they said they don't have my class rank so they didn't offer me into honors program....
oh, so complicated...thank you!! it helped me a lot!

yes, I'm 99% sure they don't look at class rank for scholarships - just GPA and SATs. And yes, I got in the CAS Honors Program. You might be right though, I think for the other honor programs they use class rank - might explain why I didn't get a letter from the Environmental Sciences Honors Program.

oh, I got one for Environmental sciences honors program...
I thought environmental science honors program don't look at your class rank!
anyway, I like to be in the college of arts and science honors program because I think I would be enrolled in that school if I go to rutgers...
it's so confusing...
