class rings

are any seniors buying the class ring? which one?
what are you personalizing it with? (on the sides)

I purchased a class ring before I graduated. It's the Noblesse style. They had a huge sale around March and I got $75 off the price. Had it engraved with my name, class year and degree.

I think the Cornell rings (especially for the ladies) are very classy and I wear mine just about everywhere!

I got the men's diplomat. Has my year and ILR on the other side and my name on the inside. It's beautiful!

Isn't there a type of ring that is only available to Ivy League students. And if you wear it, other Ivy Leaguers know that you are part of the Ivy League?
Is it better to get that?

Dear Uncle Ezra - Questions for Tuesday, November 14, 2006 - Cornell University

There is an "ivy League" ring. Unfortunately, it's kind of plain. By the time you get close enough to one to realize it's the Ivy ring, you could just read the dang school name anyways.

And when I looked at other Ivy class rings, they weren't exactly the same. The ivy league model is less a "unique and identifiable ring" and more of "just keep it along the same lines, school crest on top, year on the side, etc."

so you are saying its not worth to get the ivy league ring?

The only school I know of where rings actually mater is MIT. And anytime I see somebody wave around their brass rat I just want to punch them.

Of course, what do I know? I even think putting a decal on the back of a car is lame.
